Going Commando | A SWTOR Fan Blog: Matches Worth PvPing For
http://swtorcommando.blogspot.com/2015/08/matches-worth-pvping-for.html
Matches Worth PvPing For. The scene: Alderaan Civil War. Going to be painful for everyone involved, but in a different way. I spot another Combat Medic and a Sage healer. The second Sage in the group is a damage dealer based on his set bonus, so all seems well. It makes sense for all of us to go to mid together and support the group. I want to write into the chat. Or: "Does nobody read the chat? As I res and return to grass in an attempt to take it back, I consider composing a sad tweet about this match&...

Going Commando | A SWTOR Fan Blog: Do We Need a Coffee Bucket List?
http://swtorcommando.blogspot.com/2015/08/do-we-need-coffee-bucket-list.html
Do We Need a Coffee Bucket List? Back before WoW came out with its Cataclysm expansion, I felt some pressure. To complete certain bits of content before the big revamp of the old world was going to cause them to disappear (seemingly) forever. I even got the Loremaster achievement. Which involved the completion of a total of over three thousand quests! Okay, so I had already done a large chunk of those beforehand, but it was still a fair bit of work. Be current content after KotFE comes out. And now the l...

This is the sixth post in my 10 Days of SWTOR Screenshots challenge. Click on any screenshot to see a larger version. I always thought that the entrance area to Czerka Core Meltdown looks pretty inviting before it suffers its, erm, core meltdown. Taking this screenshot gave me way more trouble than it should have by the way, as the place repeatedly shut down just before I had found a good angle. Links to this post. Labels: 10 days of swtor screenshots. Blood Hunt and Battle of Rishi hardmode. Even though...

Going Commando | A SWTOR Fan Blog: February 2015
http://swtorcommando.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Once upon a time I wrote a post on why I loved SWTOR's original three cinematic trailers. This is not that post. Instead, this is the post about why I continue to be disappointed by the trailers that Bioware has been releasing ever since launch - and no, it's not because they don't have awesome cinematics courtesy of Blur Studios. This post was inspired by Xam Xam's latest weekly roundup. In which she mentions the new " Choose Your Path. But I digress.). Instead, they made it awesome by:. Having a cool v...

Being a Noob on the Progenitor. I've been wondering whether to do anything with this whole. Epic Story XP boost. That's going on right now. I've said a hundred times that I'm not a fan of things like double XP weekends, but I think I've made my peace with the fact that they exist and that there is a clear demand for them. At least they are preferable to changing XP requirements across the board and thereby forcing. So all is well from my point of view. But this is where I felt like making a start.).

Going Commando | A SWTOR Fan Blog: Community Cantina Speeders!
http://swtorcommando.blogspot.com/2015/07/community-cantina-speeders.html
So apparently there was another one of those community cantina events last weekend where they gave out codes for a free speeder that you'll get on all of your alts. No, of course I didn't go - I live in the UK and Bioware hasn't been here since early 2013. However, I'm the sort of hoopy frood* who knows all the right people, so I already got myself a code for a shiny new "Prinawe Congregate", pictured below:. If you want one of your own, feel free to click this link. 14 July 2015 at 21:43. Its back up ag...

Going Commando | A SWTOR Fan Blog: Pondering the Outlander Trailer
http://swtorcommando.blogspot.com/2015/08/pondering-outlander-trailer.html
Pondering the Outlander Trailer. On Wednesday Bioware revealed a new KotFE trailer. At Gamescom, this one consisting mostly of in-game cut scenes. Considering their poor track record with trailers like that. This one was pretty good. More than anything however, it provided me with a lot of food for thought about the upcoming coffee expansion. So glad to see this, I would have unsubbed if they had killed Marr off", or: "Can I have him as a companion please? An outpouring of love for him. Even their body l...

A Few Words About Joystiq, Massively and WoW Insider. I don't remember when I first discovered WoW Insider. I also got linked by WI once or twice, which always resulted in a massive traffic spike. Actually tried to fill that niche, but it never seemed to take off in quite the same way. The fact that the site was privately owned and therefore had limited resources to work with probably didn't help. It shut down about a year ago. I tried to get a similar community fix from Massively. And yet. I found m...

Going Commando | A SWTOR Fan Blog: Living the Unranked PvPer's Life
http://swtorcommando.blogspot.com/2015/08/living-unranked-pvpers-life.html
Living the Unranked PvPer's Life. Expect to read some more posts about PvP until I inevitably forget about it again . One thing that I've been enjoying about doing regular PvP again for the past couple of weeks is the way it brings me in contact with the server community, for better or worse. I've always enjoyed "people watching" on the fleet, taking in the ridiculous names and even more ridiculous outfits that some people come up with. I wonder if he knows the song. 4 August 2015 at 10:35. Haha, that wa...

Going Commando | A SWTOR Fan Blog: Solo Flashpoints - Good or Bad Idea?
http://swtorcommando.blogspot.com/2015/01/solo-flashpoints-good-or-bad-idea.html
Solo Flashpoints - Good or Bad Idea? I've since heard that solo mode isn't supposed to give any loot other than basic comms, but I have seen some pieces of gear drop in solo mode so. I don't know about that.). Of course, then I found out that you can only ever do each solo mode once. At first this struck me as reasonable - let people see the story once and then make them move on, but then I thought: if it's not supposed to drop any gear, what does it matter? I know that I wouldn't want. Makeb and Oricon ...
