Pharmacy Girl: I Wish I Was a Drug Rep for Azithromycin
http://pharmdgirl.blogspot.com/2008/04/i-wish-i-was-drug-rep-for-azithromycin.html
The view from behind the counter. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. I Wish I Was a Drug Rep for Azithromycin. Filled 83 prescriptions the other day. 9 of them were for Zithromax (either a Zpak or Zithromax oral suspension). That means 10.3% of my presription volume was an azalide antibiotic. What about doxycyline, amoxicillin, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim? What about fluoroquinolones (except ciprofloxacin, which has little activity against Streptococcus pneumoniae)? Pharmacy Girl: Flat Co-pays and the Public's Inability to Understand Them

The view from behind the counter. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Flat Co-pays and the Public's Inability to Understand Them. This is the last of my old posts, republished. Anything published from here on out will be new material. Enjoy! He yelled at me, saying that me and my company were screwing him. He hardly let me get a word in edgewise. He kept asking “What about the other 15 capules? After he left, I sat here fuming, wishing I would have said this:. Number two: your doctor’s office. Most doctor...Number ...

Pharmacy Girl: At Least Barristas Get Tips
http://pharmdgirl.blogspot.com/2008/04/at-least-barristas-get-tips.html
The view from behind the counter. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. At Least Barristas Get Tips. This morning I was getting my daily dose of caffeine at Starbucks. I was in line behind 3 or 4 people, but the line was moving along. The barristas were friendly, chatting with customers as they steamed milk for lattes and blended ice and sugar-water for frappuccinos. A woman rushed in, interrupted the transaction of the person that was paying at the register and demanded to know how long the wait was. As with their S...

Pharmacy Girl: You have the power
http://pharmdgirl.blogspot.com/2008/05/you-have-power.html
The view from behind the counter. Wednesday, May 7, 2008. You have the power. If any of you out there are retail pharmacists working for a corporation and hating it, here is a word of advice. You have the power. There is a pharmacist shortage. Quit letting them boss you around, micromanage your vacation time, and undermine your every decision. You are professionals. You deserve to be treated like one. There is a regional manager working for a corporation in my area who recently quit. Why?

Archive for February, 2011. Indian Health Service (IHS) Rotation – Part 1. February 24, 2011. I’ve copied and pasted a journal I kept during my IHS rotation. I’ve removed a few sentences and changed the dates b/c I want to remain anonymous. I hope you enjoy the pics b/c they are magnificent. Oh, for some reason, the bible people popped up in my head so I decided to look in all the drawers. Haha, I found the King James Version of the Bible. First week of IHS rotation. I’m Still Alive. Archive for April, 2011. I’m Finished With Pharmacy School! April 23, 2011. I never thought this day would come but I made it. I just finished my last rotation, Substance Abuse Consult. The pts were, ummm, interesting. There are so many good stories . . . Preceptor: Do you know the date? Rx Student: How much do you drink? Patient: A drink a douche douche. (I’m pretty sure he meant a deuce deuce which is 22 oz of beer). Pt: I want to ask a question and want your honest opinion. Stuff White People Like.

July 22, 2009. 1 LOS ANGELES LAKERS. 2 SAN ANTONIO SPURS. You know I’m bias. Spurs could have been #3 or #4 but I’m sticking em here. They obtained solid firepower with Richard Jefferson and a reliable big man in Mcdyess. Just look at this possible lineup: Parker, Ginobili, Jefferson, Duncan, Mcdyess. Rasheed Wallace is a versatile big, able to post up and shoot the 3. If Kevin Garnett can be healthy, they will contend with the Cavs and Magic for the top spot in the East. June 23, 2009.
