Sarah Dixon (London, England), Maura McKee (Northern Ireland) and Lauren McHugh (Ireland) are developing the concept for this project and initiating contact with and between Cypriot and international individuals and agencies to begin the task of securing the future of Phitiotika. Keep the thread – Weaving tradition into the future. Dr Artemis Yiordamli sourced a document that records a variety of traditional Phitiotika, or Phiti weaving patterns. Mrs Angela Dixon kindly translated the text and this translation is incorporated on Page 4 in the Phitiotika Document by Elephtherias Panteri. Our project intends to expand on this and other existing documents to provide both online and printed records detailing processes as well as products of the weaving tradition. Cyprus College of Art.
