http://pierrebphoto.com/2014/11/three-little-girls-lots-laughs-montreal-portrait-photographer
Three little girls and lots of laughs Montreal Portrait Photographer. November 12, 2014. Here is a little preview of some images I shot last weekend with three little clients who were all laughs and energy! Dancing, posing, laughing, playing little games… and that was just me! This was the first time I have done family shoots like this while working with another photographer (my girlfriend Danielle), and I must say, it was a blast! Want to capture images of your kids, your family? Let’s get in touch.
Grand Lark - Promos and live shoot | Montreal Concert Photographer - Pierre B Photo
http://pierrebphoto.com/2015/03/grand-lark-promos-and-live-shoot-montreal-concert-photographer
Grand Lark – Promos and live shoot Montreal Concert Photographer. March 19, 2015. There are two things when you do concert photography that go hand in hand… live shots and promotional shots. You often don’t have much time to get your promo shots done, and are often stuck with shooting in or around the venue. So taking advantage of what you see and acting quickly is key. Up and coming folk indie rockers Grand Lark. A few things about doing quick promos:. I then got the band to put on their jackets and go ...

Camera settings (and random tips) for concert photography Montreal Concert Photographer. March 18, 2015. Steel Panther fans f/2.8 – 1/60 – ISO2000. When you first get started in concert photography, you quickly realise that it is one of the most demanding types of photography out there, both in terms of gear and knowledge. You are often shooting in low light conditions. With artists who move around a stage, in a confined area (either a photo pit or in the crowd). I know of some photographers who started ...
Montreal invests... in books! | Montreal Event Photographer - Pierre B Photo
http://pierrebphoto.com/2015/04/montreal-invests-in-books-montreal-event-photographer
Montreal invests… in books! April 27, 2015. The Saul Bellow library. Named after a Canadian born American writer who won a Nobel prize in literature) features a brand new interior design, loads of places for kids to have fun, internet access, a movie viewing room, a funky 3D printer and much more. Not only was the event fun to cover, the lines and shapes inside were really fun for this photographer to capture. While these aren’t photos in a crowded mosh pit during a rock show. The Sole of an Artist! May 11, 2015. Music photographers already have it challenging enough. Tight pits (sometimes none), 3 songs, no flash, low light, screaming fans…. so I figured why not challenge myself and do something a bit extra and get some pictures…of artist’s…shoes! I know, sounds weird. Foot fetish? Who knows, probably both. But they say you can tell a lot about someone by the shoes they wear. And we always see images of faces, guitars, hair, props…but never the shoes! How did it start? View p...

Pierre Bourgault - Photographer: Look back on a Mercedes promo shoot
http://pierrebphoto.blogspot.com/2011/12/look-back-on-mercedes-promo-shoot.html
Pierre Bourgault - Photographer. Living life, one frame at a time. Sunday, December 11, 2011. Look back on a Mercedes promo shoot. My good friend Didier was asked to take on a photoshoot for a promo for a Mercedes dealership event. He gave me a call to see if I wanted to help out, two heads are better than one (although some could argue that our two heads only equal one! We exchanged a few emails, met up for supper, drew up some sketches and had a great collaboration going. We need to move the car AGAIN!

Pierre Bourgault - Photographer. Living life, one frame at a time. Sunday, March 25, 2012. 5D Mark III in the pit. Wow, has it really been since January since I've had a new blog entry? Damn its been a busy last few months. I picked up a new camera body last week. The just released Canon 5D Mark III. This is the camera I wanted when I picked up the Mark II last year. I've been waiting for it. And out of character, I bought it on day 1. And a 100% (or just about) crop of the above. I still need to learn t...

Pierre Bourgault - Photographer. Living life, one frame at a time. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. First studio shoot with Retro Spex. Now for a bit of something new, well at least for me it is. I was asked a month or so ago to do a band shoot for a local cover band. No problem there! However, they wanted a studio shoot. Errr.sure, I can swing that! First stop, finding a studio. My first impression when I got to the studio was that this place was small to shoot 5 people. It was a rectangular room, very c...

Pierre Bourgault - Photographer. Living life, one frame at a time. Friday, January 21, 2011. Happy couple, soon to be baby and giant dogs! Had another really fun maternity session this past weekend. My photography services were given to Maude and Ian as a Christmas present by Maude's sister. How cool is being someone's Christmas present! We were able to get a nice series of images. Maude had mentionned to me that they had two dogs and she would love to have some images of her with the dogs. "No probl...

Pierre Bourgault - Photographer. Living life, one frame at a time. Monday, October 31, 2011. Canon 7D 70-200 f/2.8 1.4x teleconverter. I kept this setup as my bread and butter and had it on a monopod for the whole game. This is what gets you the close up money shots. I would love to have the 400mm f/2.8 lens that the pros use, but I don't have $14,000 just lying around :). I also kept in my bag a Canon 10-22mm for ultra wide shots, but never once took it out. How I shot football. All in all, I had a grea...

Pierre Bourgault - Photographer. Living life, one frame at a time. Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Just a wee bit 'o Ireland in Montreal. March 20th was the 187th consecutive Montreal St-Patrick's day parade, longest running in Canada and one of the longest in North America. I did some photos for Virgin 96 (local radio) and had some fun taking shots of the other floats and parade go-ers. Here are some images from the parade. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pierre Bourgault - Photographer. Living life, one frame at a time. Monday, April 4, 2011. Rising Sun - Rock 'n Roll for the Red Cross and Japan. The west end of Montreal was rocking on Sunday when over 40 bands came together to help raise money for the Red Cross' relief efforts in post earthquake and tsunami Japan. Three great venues hosted the shows, Clyde's, La Kachette and Smoke Meat Pete's. A massive undertaking and put together in just over a few weeks, the organizers were happy with the turnout.
