A major fish kill may have been averted on Norfolk's River Wissey after the Environment Agency deployed aerators to boost oxygen levels in the river. Fisheries officers stepped in after fish including more than 50 large bream, roach, tench, perch and pike were found dead on Wissey Pools, near the Wissington Sugar Factory. Not content with the previous fish shown on this gallery, Reg hit the Lincolnshire drains again to land a New PB of 27.04 on the Thursday along with another twenty just a day later weighing in at 24.08. Thursday, March 29, 2012. Spawning Pike - Matt Knight. Every now and then a photo drops into my email in-tray that makes me instantly sit up and almost stops my breathing. Well, one like that just hit the tray and what a belter of a shot it is too. Taken by Carp angler Mat Knight from South Wales, this shot captures two pike side by side before spawning. Lovely looking fish that had just spawned as you can see by the long belly ( the fish not me ) and the big head (again, not me ). Wednesday, February 22, 2012. It might be a bit cold out there, but that didn't stop Trevor Jickell from braving the cold to fish a Lincolnshire drain before the sun had even come up.
