Food Pantry

Has a food pantry contracted with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The federal government provides some basic commodity foods through the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). The program offers assistance to those who meet the household income guidelines. Non-perishable donations are welcome. Please note this program is only offered to Lawrence County residents and at the New Castle office. People In Need is a registered 501-C (3) non profit organization.

About People in Need. Dr Sally Kissick was known to say Anyone who comes here is unconditionally accepted. Its not up to us to figure out how they got here. Its up to us to figure out where to go from here. People in Need. Is a non-profit agency providing mental health outpatient counseling. Dr. Sally Kissick founded the agency in February 1999 with her life savings and a prayer. The mission of People in Need. Drug Testing Services

The test is administered at the New Castle office for those who self-pay, for employers, or for court ordered clients. The results are immediately available. Individuals who abstain from drug use 5-7 days before the test may not show any positive indication of usage. Symptoms or Circumstances Which May Indicate Drug Use. Money missing from household or work. Possession of pills or other substances without a prescription. High absentee rate from school or work. 2703 West State Street, New Castle, PA 16101.
