The Tristar controller was generally reviewed as pretty bulletproof and it has performed really well. When I had a question during intiial set up I called the factory and got immediate answers to all my questions and a lot of helpful advice. These bulbs can be replaced by three different styles of LED bulb - a panel, a pancake or a multidirectional. Fortunately they all seem to work just as well. There are a number of suppliers on ebay and I think they change all the time.
