可是，當時環境惡劣，港英政府的某些人為障礙，使社會經濟蕭條，群眾生活困難重重 不過，一切困難都動搖不了創業者的決心，他們奔走呼號，千方百計聚集力量，終於得到社會廣泛的回應和支持，特別是得到呂加力先生的大力協助，並以 保健體育會 為名，由李慶年、溫承文、余美、陳如仕、陳天放五位先生向當局申請註冊，取得社團執照。 Ldquo;保健體育會”這個題字，是1973 年遷入廣東道會所時所題的。 1958 年本會參觀海豐縣城與農運先驅彭湃的母親 中立者 合照. 當年本會副理事長黃超如先生 前排右三 出席 港九糧食雜貨總商會慶祝中華人民共和國成立二十週年 的宴會。 例如 捐款興建僑社、捐贈大型客車、辦公枱、鋼窗材料、風扇、洗衣機、收錄機 捐贈彭湃醫院的救護車、血庫藥品、冷藏柜、手術用具及藥品等等 捐贈海城鎮政府汽車、音響、布幕等 支持海豐縣田墘鎮興建白沙中學籌款工作，捐贈捕魚膠絲網等。 保健體育會 於2003年改名為 保健海流協進會 ，既有保健的 風采 ，也有海流的 精神 ，秉承前輩艱辛創會的意念，繼續奉獻社會。 2005 年11 月17 日本會就政改方案向政府表達意見。
