We've been undergoing some radical reorganization at the agency due to computer and network failure, both of which have been operating only intermittently. So, apologies for not updating you sooner, but we promise to return to our regular postings by Friday, Oct. 15. And we've got plenty of projects in the making, so stay tuned! Was the winner of the 2010 Sunburst Awards! All s...

Linn Prentis Literary: Author Tip #7: Creating Voice
http://linnprentisliterary.blogspot.com/2010/06/author-tip-7-creating-voice.html
155 E 116th St. 2F New York, New York 10029. Cheers to Our Clients! Thursday, June 17, 2010. Author Tip #7: Creating Voice. Yes, we all love a book with a good, strong voice. But.what does that mean, exactly? Let's say you are writing in 1st person POV. That's certainly the easiest way to create voice (though not to say it is easy. How do you create this elusive voice? My first answer would be to really make sure you know your character. Is s/he strong willed? How else can you create voice? As I said, kn...

Nowadays, of course, we're all on our virtual way, and many of these sheets appear first on our screens, Manifestations of the Virtual Universe . Virtual paper is a good thing, insofar as it goes. It saves trees, opens up space and cuts down on litter. It's also easier to organize and store than the real thing. NUMBER THE DAMN PAGES! June 14, 2010 at 12:15 PM. June 14, 2010 at 6:02 PM.

Linn Prentis Literary: Author Tip #5: The Imagination is Vast...The Query is Not

155 E 116th St. 2F New York, New York 10029. Cheers to Our Clients! Monday, June 7, 2010. Author Tip #5: The Imagination is Vast. The Query is Not. When I first started here, I was amazed by the places and people authors had invented and included in the query. On the one hand, I really do want to know how well thought out and constructed your new world is. On the other hand, how much can really get across in a 250 word query letter? I would open the mail and see things like this:. June 7, 2010 at 4:34 PM.

Indigo Springs: May 2010
http://indigo-springs.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Age of Miracles, or End of Days? Friday, May 21, 2010. Easing into another magical summer. Everything seems to be in a bit of a holding pattern, doesn't it? The mystical forest has stopped expanding, thenks to the fire brigades working its perimeter. The first wave of refugees from Oregon has mostly been settled. Clashes between rogue mystics and law enforcement have become almost routine, as have the reports of contaminated animals turning up outside the firebreaks. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Read the ...

Snuffy Larues Spy Files. Reprint sale to WARRIOR WOMEN. Our Lady of the Mantilla. Reprint sale to WARRIOR WOMEN. Good birthday tidings: my story Boy Twelve, originally published in Interzone back in 2005, will be reprinted in the Prime Books anthology WARRIOR WOMEN, edited by Paula Guran. Not allowed to share the ToC yet, but I will say that I am honored and tickled silly to be included with the authors on it. Sandstone Here and Sandstone Down Under - Mountain Moonlight

I wonder whats next? Sandstone Here and Sandstone Down Under. March 6th, 2009. 2009-03-06 09:35 pm (UTC). Interesting that it was in 1985. That's the year native title was finally restored and Uluru was returned to the Pitjantjatjara people. Can I make an observation and say that removal of rocks from this most sacred Aboriginal site would be the same as us desecrating a church or mosque and I hope you would discourage friends from doing so. 2009-03-07 05:29 pm (UTC). 2009-03-06 11:29 pm (UTC).

155 E 116th St. 2F New York, New York 10029. Cheers to Our Clients! Friday, March 19, 2010. News: Spotlights on the Web. Mark Rose's review of Alyx Dellamonica's book Indigo Springs. The unusual ending in this tale does hold out hope for the second book, however, so if you love contemporary fantasies, Dellamonica’s brisk style should provide a pleasing read. 8212; Mark Rose. 155 E 116th St. 2F New York, New York 10029. Cheers to Our Clients! Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Querying for a Series. First, one must acknowledge ones utter and complete absence from the digiverse. One month off the blogosphere and it feels like a dead-zone! This here blog, I doth declare, is about the series phenomenon. Okay, not so phenomenal. In fact.sometimes downright scary! Don't we want to know that you have a never ending Old Faithful of Imagination? If you've self-published the first five books a...

Linn Prentis Literary: December 2009
http://linnprentisliterary.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
155 E 116th St. 2F New York, New York 10029. Cheers to Our Clients! Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Author Tip #1: Email your query, not Snail. Why? I hesitated about publishing this post, as agency secrets are best when kept, you know, secrets. Nonetheless, I decided that there was enough personal interest here to warrant filling in y'all. Weary (and wary) authors to a few suggestions. You may be asking yourself, "Should I email my query, or should I snail mail it? Well, the answer is a resounding Email.
