A Canadian in Texas: May 2013
http://acanadianintexas.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
A Canadian in Texas. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Bike the Bricks - 2013. Friday night was the Annual Bike the Bricks in downtown Mckinney. This is the third one I have attended (spectator) and the second one I have shot. This year I was particularly looking forward to it as I have a new flash that has second curtain sync. Its the first time I used it though so still getting used to it but overall I was pleased with the capabilities of the flash on many fronts. Here is a handful of shots from the evening.

A Canadian in Texas. Sunday, October 28, 2012. Dallas Survivor Mud Run. This popped up on my radar Thursday night, so I figured this may be cool and I should be able to get some good shots! Well Saturday morning it was about 38F so I didn't know what to expect but it was sunny. I got to the motocross track where they where having the event. Here are a handful of the shots, I took a ton! Sunday, October 21, 2012. We only had 5 folks show up, probalby in part due to the location, but there were good shots.

A Canadian in Texas: July 2012
http://acanadianintexas.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
A Canadian in Texas. Saturday, July 28, 2012. I generally travel in my day job, and most recently my travels have been to San Diego, CA. I've been there a few weeks and will spend some more time there. I decided I needed to bring my camera and see what's so special about this place. The sunsets are incredible, folks were literally lined up all along the coast with cameras in hand. Monday, July 09, 2012. July 4 - Americana part 3. A 15 minute coreographed disply over in 15 seconds? Can get a bit messy.

A Canadian in Texas: August 2013
http://acanadianintexas.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
A Canadian in Texas. Sunday, August 11, 2013. One of my business trips this summer had me spending a few days in Downtown Louisville, KY. I really enjoyed my time there and took advantage of the summer evenings to explore the city. It has an interesting history and there is a lot of cool architecture there. Here are a few shots. Downtown has an entertainment area where they close 4th Street. On Thursday nights its Bike Night. Of course what is a visit to Kentucky without Bourbon. View my complete profile.

A Canadian in Texas. Monday, May 28, 2012. As I said the other day, I joined a photography meetup group. This past Saturday, the trip was to the Dallas International Festival, in the Arts District in downtown Dallas. There were many different nationalities represented with ethnic food, booths and entertainment on 4 stages. It was a great venue, lots of colors, flavors. Here are some shots I took from there. On Friday May 25, the third annual Bike The Bricks Criterium. Thursday, May 24, 2012. I attended a...

A Canadian in Texas. Sunday, February 10, 2013. Krewe of Barkus Parade 2013. I've attended the annual Krewe of Barkus parade a few times now. It's fun and I try to get some good photos, but its always mid day, peak sun so can be a bit difficult. And typically the subjects aren't the most cooperative when it comes to getting their picture taken. Here is a sample of some of the shots I took today. 10) The letter P. I had a lot of fun with the Macro/Closeup category, with some overlap into Decay and Vibrant.
