La casa es va començar a construir a mitjans del S.IX era un mas petit, però a mitjans del S. XII es va començar a construir la estructura que coneixem ara. També va rebre els terratrèmols que va patir la zona volcànica de la garrotxa del 1427 i 1432 Totes les teules es van fer amb argila dels voltants i, hi ha un prat que es diu el prat de la Teuleria on encara es pot veure el talús on estava el forn per coure les teules.

A dins de la finca Platraver, a una hora i mitja de la casa a peu, direcció Est, és troba el pic Puigsacalm 1515 d’altitud, on es veuen unes vistes espectaculars del Pirineu, cap de Creus, Pedraforca, Montserrat, etc. També a una hora i mitja aproximadament, a peu direcció Nord-Est, baixant cap els 800mts trobem l’impressionant salt d’aigua del salt de Sallent de 100mts de caiguda. Passejant sense cap direcció especifica, trobarem molt llocs increïbles de veure.

A la Masia Platraver disposem de servei de restauració. Fem el típic menjar de Pagès. Arrossos, estofats de Senglar, estofats de fesols de Sta. Pau, botifarra esparracada amb mongetes, sopa de ceba, etc. I també tot tipus de carn a la brasa, costelles de Xai, Botifarra, Xoriç, entrecots, pollastre, etc. Pa amb tomàquet amb embotits de la comarca. Disposem de gran menjador per fer convencions, comunions, bateig, reunions d’empresa, etc. Si voleu, us organitzem una bona barbacoa amb la família o amics.
