Built some time after 1773 and certainly long before 1841, the Plough was once a traditional home-brew pub with a fairly large capacity for beer production. When the brewing equipment was sold in 1864 it included a copper of 120 gallons. With fantastic views from the Beer Garden". The Museum - CLHG. In 2003 the Parish Council approached Chiseldon Local History Group with a suggestion to use a redundant chapel in Butts Road as a village museum. T. He group gratefully accepted, and in August 2004 the museum was opened by Phil Harding of Wessex Archaeology and 'Time Team' on Channel 4. The museum contains a comprehensive range of photographs and objects relating to the village, with updated displays each year. The Chiseldon Cauldron is on display -. A replica of one of 17 Iron Age.
