http://suburbansanctuary.blogspot.com/2011/03/things-that-rise-part-one-focaccia.html
Life in my kitchen and beyond. Thursday, March 31, 2011. Things That Rise: Part One - Focaccia. So, buoyed by my minor Crumpet. Success I pressed ahead with real BREAD! I decided to go ahead with a recipe from my trusty Annabel Langbein. I had faith that Annabel would not let me down, and of course, she didn’t. FYI - I made this bread. From Annabel Langbein’s The Free Range Cook. 1 ½ cups warm (not hot) water. 1 ½ tsp dry yeast granules. 1 packed cup cooked mashed potato. 188; cup extra virgin olive oil.

Suburban Sanctuary: Passionfruit Curd and Crumpets
http://suburbansanctuary.blogspot.com/2011/03/passionfruit-curd-and-crumpets.html
Life in my kitchen and beyond. Sunday, March 27, 2011. Passionfruit Curd and Crumpets. Before the curd entirely disappeared by spoon, I thought crumpets would make a much better vehicle for getting it into our mouths and so my friend Google brought me a lovely recipe to use from Sunday Hotpants. Blog The idea of making crumpets from scratch also ties in nicely with my 2011 goal of mastering the art of Making Things That Rise. I didn't have to wait too long for my first sign of success as the yeasty milk ...

Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Affordable Challenges: A Pork Terrine - Charcutepalooza Apprentice Challenge July 2011. I made pork stock. Then I made headcheese. w. Ell, actually it was toecheese. I didn't have access to a whole head, so trotters did the trick. It was the perfect cool, quick snack on an otherwise unbearably hot day. Last month I bowed out of Charcutepalooza due to monetary constraints, but this month's challenge. This is the recipe I loosely created for the 'terrine'. I froze the remaining st...

The Bushies: April 2014
http://thebushiesblog.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 7 April 2014. I'm drinking my coffee nicely. A couple of weeks ago Jackie went to London to become a British citizen. Theo and I held the fort here in Hamilton New Zealand. In the mornings Theo went to preschool while I went to work. In the afternoons we had fun. Something we did quite a bit of was visiting cafes. Theo enjoyed this and was very good at drinking his coffee nicely. Some other stuff we did included. Saying goodbye to mum at the airport. Doing the vacuuming, dishes and cooking dinner.

The Bushies: March 2014
http://thebushiesblog.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 14 March 2014. Back on the blog wagon. It's been a long time between blogs, we keep meaning to get back in to it to tidy up a few stories from London and to document our transition to Hamilton but we've been so busy it just hasn't happened. So today Jackie flew back to London to pick up her British Citizenship. It was a big decision to go through the process of applying for citizenship for Jackie and to fly her back to do the ceremony but it give us so many more options for our future. The best t...
