Pacific Northwest Gardener

Monday, August 4, 2014. More plants setting fruit and some blushing in the hot July weather. July 2014 was unusually hot, with most days in the 80s, and even a week in the high-80s and low-90s. Overnight lows were in the mid- to high-50s. When temperatures started heating up, I removed the black plastic over the tomato beds, and as the days got hotter, the plants really took off. Fruit on Sun Sugar blushing on July 16th. Fruit ripening on Matt's Wild Cherry by July 16th. By July 16th the three Cherokee P...

Pacific Northwest Gardener: Tomatoes finally blushing

http://pnwgardener.blogspot.com/2013/09/tomatoes-finally-blushing.html

Tuesday, September 10, 2013. The black and other non-cherry tomatoes finally started blushing at the end of August. The tomatoes took between 70-72 days to break color, about 40 days after setting fruit. The DTM this year was about 10 days shorter than the last two years, probably due to the unusually hot summer temperatures, with highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s and lows in the high-50s to low-60s. Black Krim blushing on August 25th. More Black Krim blushing and ripening on August 28th. UBC Botanical Gar...

Diesel's Mountain | Mindless ramblings of a gun nut

Mindless ramblings of a gun nut. Referencing my last post, today I scrubbed or closed my Linkedin account, my Disqus account, and my private Google account. My Google account in particular still had a bunch of my old contacts in it, going back many years. There are a few much more public figures with my name out there, so I can remain in the shadows while the lawyer gets the searches. As of right now, I am now FaceBook and Twitter free.
