They build their nests late in the season (later than most birds) as they wait until the thistledown of our ordinary thistles are soft and ready and pink before making their nests of thistledown and fine grasses which they build in a berry bush or some other low shaded place. Sometimes a canary just has to sing. It can’t hold it in very long -. As it flies up and down in its usual way. Singing its sweet, sweet song.
