Last rays of sunshine on my naked skin. Blue sky and the grass still wet. It is time to go for the City now. Stuck in traffic the rain starts. Will there be snow next week? I should get a new coat. The trees in the Park are black. There was death in spring. I wonder, are there seasons. Killing in dusty boots. There is so many no longer. Then in spring sitting on my tree. I watched the bombers, destination Baghdad. In death there is only one. No dreams. Now in autumn I sense the coming cold.

Past midnight, the town's asleep. I walk my dog through vacated streets. Wet air on my skin feels fresh and clean. Passing the town I watch – though the shadows. Some Loonies playing a game of chess. Minutes later vanishing city lights diminish into dust. Where silvery shrouds bath trees in tinted blackness. Like silent watchers ardently shaken,. Who are they waiting for – an ever restless crowd? I knew it was over, even before I saw it in your face. And over it was not. I knew. Times to come. You were standing at the window. Grey hair, cold eyes. Did I love you? That moment. When I tossed the key. Over and out it wasn't over. At least not for me. Hate can be a relief and revenge a sheet anchor. But my sheet is blank. No words left. No tears to dry up. What is left after all those years,. Standing cold on the street. Is it a street? It is not going anywhere. Nowhere to go for me .
