Leastbest's Poker Blog. Just a retired guy playing poker. On June 17, 2012. I’ve played a few times since my brother’s passing and I plan to write about them but last night’s game can’t be ignored. Julie had a deep stack tournament that started at 5pm. This is perfect for an old fart like me. I love deepstacks and with the added advantage of many of the better players in the CPMG being in Las Vegas the odds of my cashing went way up. Drowning On The River: A Low Limit Poker Blog. Friday, August 26, 2011. Common Mistakes I See At Limit Hold'em Tables ( Or, it's slow at work and I'm bored so here's a bonus blog entry. 1) Buying In Too Short. This is the most common mistake I see. People often buy in to a limit table for the minimum or close to it. I don't understand why I see people put $100 on the table, lose it, and buy another $100 over and over. Why not just buy $200-$300? 2) Checking Down Too Many Hands. 3) Calling People Too Light.

For a guy like DP, taking a shot is playing the $1/1 at Terry's because he's been hitting" - Colin (at Adam's $4/8 O8 game). Why the fuck would anyone sit at a cash table knowing they were going to get owned? Yet, I did it over and over and over. For years. I wasn't outmatched was I? Oh, wait, yes I was. Yes, NLHE cash. Leastbest's Poker Blog. Just a retired guy playing poker. All posts for the month June, 2013. Medina Poker League Championship. On June 11, 2013. The Medina Poker League is a strange group. You only get 2500 chips and the blind structure is very fast. It is essentially a turbo tournament structure. The first couple times there I had a hard time. It didn’t take long before I figured it out and started cashing regularly. Plus after the game is a sweet cash game. Very enjoyable. On June 10, 2013. Fifty play...

Leastbest's Poker Blog. Just a retired guy playing poker. On September 4, 2012. Played in Julie’s Deepstack Pot-Luck Tournament on Sunday. What a difference! Third hand I got pocket kings and won a small pot. That was better than the entire tournament the day before. I was going to be okay. It was very funny. 5th – Julie...
