Poland Mission June 27-July 11 2011. CREC Church community in Poland. Poland's population of 38 million is 90% Roman Catholics, 1.3% Eastern Orthodox, and 0.3% Protestant. For many, being Roman Catholic, at least in name, is tied to being a patriotic Polish citizen. Although Polish people have a relatively high standard of living, the atmosphere of Poland is still repressive. It carries scars from European tug-a-wars and a medieval brand of Roman Catholicism. Poland Mission June 27-July 11 2011. Thursday, July 7, 2011. Day Ten - Malbork Castle. Today we pilled out in chaos to catch a tram and then a train to visit Malbork Castle. Malbork is the largest castle in Europe and the biggest brick castle in the world. In the oldest hall of the castle.that has simply awe-inspiring acoustics. One Catholic woman attended as well and was willing to talk and exchange contact information. Another lady, Grazyna, attended who had lived in Gdansk all her life. Are organizing the trip with members from other churches in Japan, Florida, and Alaska (. Our team of adults and youth will be about 30 strong. Some of us have been to Poland before, others have never been across the ocean. Whatever our experiences, we are confident that God has new ones in store for us. Please pray with us.
