Ponderings of a Med Student: May 2009

http://ponderingsofamedstudent.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Ponderings of a Med Student. My thoughts on life, travel, books, movies, oh, and medical school. It has been a while since my last post. The thoughts are just a jumbled mess. I have been on vaction since last Sunday, lounging at the beach and touring the historic districts of Charleston and Savannah. Tomorrow, I return home, and I hope I will be able to write something worth reading. Until then, may I recommend. Series books available in the store, while I have to order a copy of An Area of Darkness.

Ponderings of a Med Student: Friends

http://ponderingsofamedstudent.blogspot.com/2009/05/friends.html

Ponderings of a Med Student. My thoughts on life, travel, books, movies, oh, and medical school. A week has already past since I crossed the stage and moved my tassel to the left side of my cap. I do not feel any older or smarter than I did last time around, but I am sure that this feeling is false. Over the past four years, I have learned many things- the Schrödinger. I must agree with Walt Whitman when he writes, "I no doubt deserved my enemies, but I don't believe I deserved my friends." Quality r...

Ponderings of a Med Student. My thoughts on life, travel, books, movies, oh, and medical school. By Paul Theroux will be my companion, for starters, and if I'm lucky, a few more friends will join me on some domestic excursions. May 14, 2009 at 11:49 PM. FINALLY. Did you wait til today to start it solely so you could say "one year ago to the date"? I feel like that's something you would do. Regardless, I'm glad you're on board with the blogging scene. I miss you! May 15, 2009 at 1:36 AM. The Sun Also Rises.

Ponderings of a Med Student. My thoughts on life, travel, books, movies, oh, and medical school. In a library we are surrounded by many hundreds of dear friends imprisoned by an enchanter in paper and leathern boxes." Ralph Waldo Emerson. I may be a bit of a book snob, but I do not care. I can spend hours in a bookstore, browsing Amazon, or reading reviews in the Times. Series books available in the store, while I have to order a copy of An Area of Darkness. Or The Sound and the Fury ,. Among many groups...

A Fleeting Thought...: May 2009

http://fleetingthoughtspresent.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 29, 2009. We found that it took about twenty-four hours for us to recover the reality of each other, even though we would have been thinking constantly of each other. What happened, we decided, was that, apart, we would slightly idealize each other, and to that extent lose the real person.". Unfortunately, there is far too much conflict within our flawed yet fanciful beings. . I think it's alright to remember people as they are. Monday, May 25, 2009. Humility is insecure, or is it? As Christi...

musings and little things: May 2009

http://drewta24.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Musings and little things. Thursday, May 28, 2009. And I'm sure most of those aren't spelled anywhere near right. There was one lady we were talking to in the projects that had seven kids, and her sister and her kids shared the same apartment. Some of these are kids who odds are will have friends or neighbors or acquaintances that will be killed inside or around the premises of one of the projects, Cleaborn. On the way home like I did and still get a good meal for the night. And I'm taking suggestions an...

A Fleeting Thought...: April 2009

http://fleetingthoughtspresent.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 30, 2009. There is always something about the weather that puts me in one mood or another. The weather has an enormous influence over my emotions. And there was just "something" about the weather today that brought back a nostalgia that I didn't quite understand. Very much like having memories that I don't recall. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Love of My Life. I'm free falling into this. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Weird 90's songs always wash this strange nostalgia over me. I'm kind of into it.

A Fleeting Thought...: An Alliance Between Man and Woman

http://fleetingthoughtspresent.blogspot.com/2009/05/alliance-between-man-and-woman.html

Sunday, May 17, 2009. An Alliance Between Man and Woman. An introduction for this post is a bit troublesome for me. I can't seem to choose between two concepts, therefore, I will share both. I think very highly of C.S. Lewis and take his commentary on various subjects to heart. Here's a bit of what he has to say on "being in love" and marriage:. You cannot make it the basis of a whole life. It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling.". And my personal favorite:. This is something that I feel I've k...

Musings and little things. Tuesday, June 2, 2009. The days slip by, most busily yet the others lazily, and the thoughts etched or sketched onto the mental blackboard collect back into an idly sitting chalk. the days unwritten seem unpassed, the time passed seems unwritable, the future full of countless quiet words from which i may only select one set, with no revision. A Fleeting Thought...: February 2008

http://fleetingthoughtspresent.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 5, 2008. And when you find yourself. In those situations where you would love to take those chances despite all the circumstances but you don't know what the consequences might be and if you'll just end up hurting yourself.but you want to do it regardless. The adventure. The thrill. The most inspiring of these moments is when you close your eyes and breathe in the wind with arms raised to the sky without a thought as to what everyone else's thoughts might entail. I'll share this thought.

A Fleeting Thought...: We are Romanticists

http://fleetingthoughtspresent.blogspot.com/2009/05/we-are-romanticists.html

Saturday, May 16, 2009. With the wit of Oscar Wilde. And the youth of Fitzgerald. The tragedy of Hemingway. And the language of Shakespeare. The rebellion of Salinger. And the adventure of Marquez. The reality is in our heads. . I think I would agree with that. May 16, 2009 at 12:04 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). People Who's Writing I enjoy. A Fleeting Thought...: August 2009

http://fleetingthoughtspresent.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 3, 2009. Once upon a time. Well, yes. Does it risk death, or worse, an idiotic diagnosis? Most certainly. But if anyone were to step into the mind of this aging and somewhat decrepit old woman, would they be curious of her extremists attempts at hilarity? Could she be worthy of a New York Times front page article or, perhaps, inspire the lyrics to a cliche song? Well then, I don't know what I would make of that. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Fleeting Thought...: June 2009

http://fleetingthoughtspresent.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 29, 2009. By far, my least favorite time of the year. Now, I realize that most people don't feel this way. I, on the other hand, can think of a number of reasons to dislike Summer.in my circumstances anyway. 1 It's just way too hot and humid. 2 All the people you wish you were hanging out with are nowhere near you. 3 You have so much free time to read that you lose the motivation to do so. 5 I don't really care for flip flops. 7 Laziness becomes you. Ponderings Of A Gin Infused Mind. Brunch is always a good idea, Gin is a better one…. October 6, 2016. October 7, 2016. Ponderings Of a Gin Infused Mind. Recently I decided to partake in some gin tasting (It would be rude not to hey! Sipsmiths is a brand I always come across in supermarkets and spy on gin menus in bars, and it’s a brand that doesn’t just produce gin but vodka and a summer cup too. Rodney Densems has two shops fairly local to one another and as the gin evening attendees enjoyed a Sipsmith...

Ponderings of my Heart

Ponderings of my Heart. Friday, 25 October 2013. I have always loved the water, I am a swimmer. Maybe being Australian, living on an island it's in my blood to love the tranquillity and sheer power the ocean possesses. There is nothing like natural water, but I still enjoy to cold and peace I feel in a pool. But swimming in a squad has never diminished my pleasure with water, but sometimes distracted me from it. Wednesday, 22 May 2013. Still a little foolish. As my mind whirled all these thoughts, I soon...

Thursday, October 27, 2011. When Lydia told me this was a good film my first thought was, "Another horse racing movie? I have watched a few of those: Black Beauty, The Black Stallion, both My Friend Flicka's, National Velvet, The Man From Snowy River, The Horse Whisperer, Hildalgo, Danny, All the Pretty Horses, quite a few Roy Rogers and other old westerns. The main horse in the movie always wins in some way. I thought I'd seen enough. Mr Phipps' best stallion stallion Bold Ruler. But this movie is about...

Ponderings of a Mind

Ponderings of a Mind. Saturday, December 6, 2014. Quick Pocket Card Tutorial. A quick visual on how I made a super fast pocket card for holding small pictures, lists, and journaling cards using my card stock scraps, washi tape, and a few embellishments. Step 1: Fold your card stock to the size you want. Step 2: Cut another piece of card stock to slide in. (I quickly sketched where I should glue when I slid it in to test how it fit.). Step 3: Flip it over to decorate! Links to this post. The first is a pi...

ponderingsofanadult | a few thoughts on adulthood

A few thoughts on adulthood. Change is hard, but good. January 7, 2012. I was right about part of that. Change did come, it wasn’t the same, it was better! This first semester of college has brought change for us. We have all changed. I started my masters degree. Jaclyn started her bachelors degree. She started the transition to life on her own. We started the transition to life without her at home. And guess, what? September 19, 2011. My Papaw Jack.sporting his Celina Bobcat orange!

Ponderings of an American Immigrant

Ponderings of an American Immigrant. Sunday, February 22, 2015. From Pirate to Parent. No one can deny the power of a good book. Every once in a while some of us are lucky enough to come across a book that changes the way we see the world and what we want from the one life we’ve been given on this crazy planet. I became one of the lucky ones when, as an eleven-year-old girl, I came across just such a book. Motherhood was so important. I was reminded that Charlotte Doyle had been able to achieve an ad...

Ponderings of an ER nurse

Ponderings of an ER nurse. The new year is here! I rang in the new year checking in my, what seemed like, 100th ambulance of the night. Not as many drunks as I expected. Lots of car wrecks though. Sad thing is that the sober victim usually gets the bad end of the wreck. Point of all of this? January 2, 2009. Posted by Nurse D. Reply to comments…. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. It has been a little crazy lately. But I wanted to reply to the comments I have gotten recently. Rob….thanks f...Paul&#8...

Ponderings Of An Insomniac – Oh a bit of this and a bit of that..

Ponderings Of An Insomniac. Oh a bit of this and a bit of that. January 28, 2016. Everytime I start reading a Malayalam book, I start off with a lot of enthusiasm – grand plans on how I’m going to read it, absorb it and talk about it eloquently to anyone who will listen. And almost everytime, I lose interest halfway through. Well, lose interest is too broad a term. What actually happens is I give up on the language. When did I become a grown up? January 26, 2016. I’m an adult now? When did that happen?
