Desertland Pool Scoop: Pushing Less Papers
http://desertlandpool.blogspot.com/2015/01/pushing-less-papers.html
Saturday, January 24, 2015. As you know, there was a 3 cent price increase on First Class Stamps back in September and there are reports of another increase as soon as late April. If so, the price of a "Forever" stamp would reach the $.50 level. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Scottsdale, AZ 85255. Gillespie's A/C and Heating. Heliocol Solar Pool Heating. Desertland Pool Scoop: Turn On The Lights
http://desertlandpool.blogspot.com/2015/04/turn-on-lights.html
Thursday, April 23, 2015. Turn On The Lights. We've been working on a few pool light projects over the past few weeks and we realized that we have never talked about pool lights. Pool lights have come along way over the last 10-20 years. Many typical play pools in the Phoenix Metro area were built with a regular incandescent 400W Pool light like the one shown above. They glow a "hot white" color and give the pool a "green-blue" look. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Scottsdale, AZ 85255. Sun Away Outd...

Desertland Pool Scoop: The Main Drain
http://desertlandpool.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-main-drain.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. Last week, a customer had a few questions about draining their swimming pool because they wanted a "fresh start" now that our swimming season is in full swing! If it's been several years since the pool was last emptied and filled with fresh water it's still not too late to get that done. Most "newer pools" are finished with a Pebble. Coating (ie. PebbleTec™) that can typically handle the exposure to the hot temperatures in the Valley. If you have a pool with a Plaster. If you decid...

Desertland Pool Scoop: Prime Time for Pool Parties
http://desertlandpool.blogspot.com/2015/06/prime-time-for-pool-parties.html
Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Prime Time for Pool Parties. It sure got HOT here in a hurry. We went from a very mild month of May (and even the first half of June wasn't all bad) to blazing hot record-setting temperatures last week. With the kids being on summer vacation and this hot weather, many of the swimming pools are getting a lot of use. We hope everyone has a fun and safe swim season again this year! Desertland Pool Scoop: Early Start to Swim Season
http://desertlandpool.blogspot.com/2015/03/early-start-to-swim-season.html
Thursday, March 12, 2015. Early Start to Swim Season. With beautiful weather and temperatures in the upper 80s this week, it feels like summer may be arriving a little early this year. The Valley is on track to reach the low 90s next week! I understand that we sound like a "skipping record" (The younger generation won't get that reference) but we are going to keep reminding everyone over and over to install some form of fence or barrier. To keep kids out of the pool when it's not in use AND.

Desertland Pool Scoop: Tree Spring Cleaning
http://desertlandpool.blogspot.com/2015/02/tree-spring-cleaning.html
Sunday, February 22, 2015. Since the trees are blooming early, we wanted to talk about trees. again! As we've discussed before trees add beauty to your yard and pool setting, however, without proper maintenance they can become a big problem. If you have trees around your pool, then you know all about a 'trashed pool', clogged skimmers, and dirty water. Leaves also make the pool water more acidic and organic material eats up the chlorine in the water. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Pool and Spa News.

Desertland Pool Scoop: All Cracked Up !
http://desertlandpool.blogspot.com/2015/03/all-cracked-up.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2015. We have had several repair projects recently dealing with cracked material such as pool patios and pool pebbled surfaces. We thought it would be a good topic for our latest posting. The other type of "cracked-up" jobs we have been working on lately are pebble surface de-lamination and cracking. This is a common issue with older Pebble pools, especially on the rolled bond beams and step edges. And in this case we repaired an attached Spa Spillway that was really falling apart.
