Postcards from the Open Road. Somedayi Adventures and the Open Road. Cycling Through Wyoming – Segment 5. October 31, 2013. Cycling In Other Countries. In northern Utah – a distance of 53 miles. Riding into and out of the small canyon provides a welcome change from the long straight sections we had been riding most of the morning. We continue riding southwest while gaining elevation as we approach the top of the the next plateau. We head down a bit and off to our left is the Red Creek Badlands. We climb ...

Postcards from the Open Road. Somedayi Adventures and the Open Road. Past Enemies, Future Friends. January 29, 2014. Cycling In Other Countries. On the other side of the world the Southeast Asia country of Vietnam holds a unique place in American history. Most Americans, including myself, know very little about this country except for the Vietnam War. That changed after I spent three weeks traversing this now peaceful and scenic country in the winter of 2002. On that afternoon I rented a well-used single...

Baked In Santorini | Postcards from the Open Road

https://postcardsfromopenroad.wordpress.com/2014/11/21/baked-in-santorini

Postcards from the Open Road. Somedayi Adventures and the Open Road. November 21, 2014. My close friends know that I’m a sucker for bakeries. They are like magnets to me. I stay away from them here in Denver, but when I’m on the road I freely give in and stop at any bakery I may encounter. I feel it’s my duty as a traveler to experience as many local treats as possible. And there is no better way to get to know a place. Of course I had to stop and enter Bakery Boras. For the most part it seems like event...

Postcards from the Open Road. Somedayi Adventures and the Open Road. Cycling Through Wyoming – Segment 4. October 15, 2013. We started this morning’s ride a couple of miles east of Moran Junction. The turnout where we parked provided a nice staging area to unload my truck and prep for our ride. With the Grand Teton Park sign overseeing the start of our ride we. Postcards From Nowhere

May 21, 2015. Recently, I’ve been catching up on some of last year’s films that I wanted to see. Along the way, I decided to seek out Michael R. Roskam’s The Drop. Not only because it looked like an intriguing crime drama, but also because it contained the last role of the great James Gandolfini (God rest his soul). Aside from that, The Drop. Is definitely worth seeing if you’re into this sort of thing. It isn’t easy to come across a solid mob flick nowadays, but I think this is one of the good ones.

Postcards From Oviedo

Saturday, May 21, 2011. That is the end, there is no more. Back at the beginning of the semester, I said I’d write a little bit about the food here, and I never really got around to it. So,. Meals here go something like this:. Breakfast: Eaten when you get up in the morning. This one’s easy! Midmorning Pincho: Eaten around 11:30-12. This is usually a little sandwich or piece of tortilla to hold you over until lunch. Dinner: Eaten around 8:30 – 9 at my house, could be as late as 10 or 11. If not, then tha...

Tin Woodsman: What have you learned, Dorothy? Dorothy: Well, I - I think that it - it wasn't enough to just want to see Uncle Henry and Auntie Em - and it's that - if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with!
