Postcards From The Ridge: October 2011
http://postcardsfromtheridge.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 29, 2011. I’ve been plagued lately by Northwest Guilt. It’s the feeling a person has that was raised in the Northwest, that says, on a sunny day, that person really needs to be outside enjoying the sunshine. Since sunny days don’t come so often to us here in the Northwest, there’s a good reason for that feeling, but sometimes, circumstances prevent me from going outdoors on a sunny day - and the guilt takes over. At least in the fall we’ll get a few hours in the morning. And they say Ca...
Postcards From The Ridge: September 2011
http://postcardsfromtheridge.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2011. Our company from Norway that borrowed our car and took off to Canada for a week, returned on Wednesday last week. I forgot to mention that in my last post. In fact, I forgot to mention anything else that happened last week expect the misery I’ve been in because of the poison ivy encounter. So Roda and Greg had a great time in Banff and said it was the highlight of their months in North America, so far. I actually was heading to my step-mom’s 70. Sunday night we had a nice ho...
Postcards From The Ridge: February 2012
http://postcardsfromtheridge.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 23, 2012. It’s been a good week, mostly because we are now done with that detox. It’s hard to believe a simple piece of bread could bring Kory so much joy. Those last three days of the juice fasting left us both weak and hungry, but we made it and feel like we’ve done a good reboot on our bodies. I think Kory is thinking twice about what he puts in his mouth now, which is good. I hate how much time it takes to eat healthy. I put in a banana, apple, pineapple, blueberries, pomegranate s...
Postcards From The Ridge: Mexico Missions Trip
http://postcardsfromtheridge.blogspot.com/2013/08/mexico-missions-trip.html
Friday, August 30, 2013. Well, God surely showed up in many ways on our recent trip to Mexico. Being the leader of a group of 19 from two different churches was much easier the second time around. I had a huge learning curve in April, the last time we went, but all I learned, I put to good use this time and everyone was well prepared for the journey. We had four different family groups and four individual women on this trip. The first God Thing was that everyone made it to San Diego without a hitch.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Our life is back to normal, in all senses of the word. Kaleb is back to his old school routine, Kory is back volunteering here there and everywhere and I am back to cleaning up after them both. My only angst lately has been trying to come up with something to write about for my weekly column on Norway. I actually chewed off my fingernails last week it a fit of worry that I wouldn’t make the deadline. He hasn’t even complained once about being vegan, but I’m not su...I have a ...

Wednesday, February 18, 2015. If you're like me, you might get a little bored of the same Scriptures for Ash Wednesday and Lent, the ones we read year after year, like Psalm 51. Just reading that probably prompted the words to start scrolling through your brain: Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;. According to your great compassion,. Me from my sin. I feel fairly confident that I could recite the entire psalm from memory. Let me clarify my earlier statement: At first glance,.

Postcards From The Ridge
Tuesday, October 22, 2013. I'm Back in the Saddle! I got a call several weeks ago from our friend in the Bahamas. She was shocked when I answered the phone. She said, “Well Mickey, I thought you’d done died and gone to heaven. There hasn’t been anything new on your blog for so long I was sure you were dead so I was calling up to give my condolences to Kory and to tell him I got a whole line up of women down here ready to take him on.”. I couldn’t have laughed harder. That woman is a total crack up. Since...
