I call it research. A blog about fiction writing by Sarah Schofield. Tuesday, 12 April 2011. A (Camp) Site for Sore Eyes. Having spent the last few months hunched over the laptop until my hands resembled claws and my pallor turned the sickly yellow of Birds Custard I stepped blinking and squinting into the sunshine and decided to go camping. A writing research trip. I promise. Tent - check. Sleeping bag - check. Cool box crammed with chocolate and beers - check. I included a visit to. So this trip, with ...

I call it research...: Looking after my future self
http://icallitresearch.blogspot.com/2014/06/looking-after-my-future-self.html
I call it research. A blog about fiction writing by Sarah Schofield. Friday, 27 June 2014. Looking after my future self. I know I'm not the only one. Perhaps this berating of self resonates with you. If it doesn't and you find it easy to be kind to yourself, I'd love to know how to do it. I think this is why the shampoo-in-swimming-bag touched me deeply. it was a cherishing, thoughtful act to myself - my future self. A tiny but loving act of kindness, that I'd forgotten all about. 8 July 2014 at 06:45.

I call it research...: May 2015
http://icallitresearch.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
I call it research. A blog about fiction writing by Sarah Schofield. Friday, 1 May 2015. At a function recently someone asked me what I do for a living. I explained to them in a few sketchy details. Someone responded with, "Yes, she's a very clever girl." A couple of other people chipped in and agreed that I was indeed a very clever girl. Had I been a bloke, aged anything over 18, I suspect they would not have referred to me as a very clever boy. Am I reading too much into a very misguided compliment?
