Wednesday, October 19, 2011. I was so blessed to get to go back home last week. I was especially excited to meet my great nephew for the first time. Even though I was told he doesn't typically like strangers, we pretty much hit it off from the start. I thought maybe Jeremy and Lauren had hung my picture over his crib as I requested and he just recognized me, but it turns out they didn't follow through on this brilliant idea. So I guess Jayden and I were just destined to be good buds. 34 Years 1 Week.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Scrap Fabric Hair Barrette. Rolled fabric flowers are all over the internet right now. I have been wanting to make a hair clip for a while and Valentine's seemed like the perfect time to make a cute little romantic flower hair pretty. It is the easiest thing in the world. You just need some glue (I used a glue gun because I didn't want to wait the extra couple seconds for fabric glue to dry), some scrap fabric, hair barrettes and any doo-dads you want to add. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. My Heart Is With You Joplin. I remember waiting in an underground cellar at my grandparents house as a child for a tornado to pass. I remember hearing a tornado outside my bedroom window as a teenager and running to the safety of my parent's room. These storms become commonplace when you are subjected to them so often for so many years, but one has never left this kind of destruction and heartache behind, not this close to home. Tuesday, August 10, 2010. 1 1/2 cups flour. 2 tsp baking powder. 1 cup vanilla yogurt. 3 extra large eggs (room temp). Zest of 2 lemons. 1/2 cup canola oil. 1/3 cup lemon juice (from 2 lemons). Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a loaf pan. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. In another bowl mix eggs, sugar, yogurt and lemon zest. I used low fat yogurt to try to save a few calories. I was looking for a lemon pound cake that does not have tons of butter. I tried this and it was delicious!
