StuccoHouse: Warped
http://stuccohouse.blogspot.com/2014/12/warped.html
Saturday, December 20, 2014. I've been slowly plugging away at restoring my upstairs double hung window sashes. The bottom sash has been moving along steadily it has been stripped, treated with borate, primed and partially painted. I was thinking that I needed to apply pressure to the rail to see if I could train the wood back into place. I treated the frame with borate and then tried to use a couple of bungee cords to pull the rail back into place. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Research House Hist...

StuccoHouse: Notes
http://stuccohouse.blogspot.com/2015/05/notes.html
Sunday, May 24, 2015. I found this little chalkboard in a junk shop. I love how the wood stain matches that of the doors in my house. I hung it at the bottom of my stairwell so I can make notes to myself that I will see each morning. The pictures above it are little Hummel prints from my Grandmother. I've hung family photos on the landing above this wall and will continue to work my way in both directions to fill the wall with pictures eventually. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). StuccoHouse: In The Ground
http://stuccohouse.blogspot.com/2015/05/in-ground.html
Monday, May 25, 2015. Gardening has been my focus for the past few weekends. For my birthday my parents bought me a rhododendron to replace an ornamental tree (I'm drawing a blank on the name as I type) that was planted on the side of my front door when I moved in. To be honest it was never my favorite and no tears were shed when it did not survive the winter. Tears were, however, just about shed digging up the damn roots of said tree. The dead plant's roots. Ugh. Where it ended up going. And finally, th...

New Spring Window Decorations | Prairiewoodworking's Blog

Custom Prairie-style furniture and radiator enclosures from Minneapolis. New Spring Window Decorations. May 20, 2014. It better really be spring now — we put up some new, bright window decorations in the windows at Prairie Woodworking. Lake Street was ready for some bright colors! Folded paper leaves for PWW – I love the colors. We chose 3 shades of green and a nice rusty orange to complement the PWW logo. The windows are a little tricky to photograph from outside — too much glare! Enter your comment here.

StuccoHouse: Windows Deferred
http://stuccohouse.blogspot.com/2008/01/windows-deferred.html
Thursday, January 03, 2008. After 2 years, I'm pretty sure it can no longer be accurately classified as "procrastination". It really must be called "severe mental block.". Then they sat.or rather leaned against the wall upstairs. For two years. I occasionally dusted them and thought about how I really should just reinstall them. And they sat some more. The funny thing is that I fully restored and reinstalled a number of casement windows during this time. Wow- it looks great! January 3, 2008 at 3:41 PM.

StuccoHouse: July 2014
http://stuccohouse.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 20, 2014. I stopped into a local junk store a few weeks ago and spotted these wood valances. I talked myself out of them only to get home and decide I really did need them. I called the store and asked them to hold them for me until I could get back in and pick them up. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
