Prairie Primrose Stitches

Friday, November 3, 2017. The dark snowballs are done but there is still the fun of arranging and putting them together! Here are my two piles of dark and light. And now I have to get busy making a few Christmas gifts so the snowballs will be set aside for now. I'm wanting the quilt finished by January so I can enjoy it for January and February! Hopefully there will be time in December to get it finished! Thanks for stopping by and happy stitching! Ann at Prairie Primrose. Monday, October 30, 2017. I'll ...

Prairie Primrose Stitches: Am I an old dog?

http://prairieprimrose.blogspot.com/2015/05/am-i-old-dog.html

Monday, May 18, 2015. Am I an old dog? Can an old dog learn a new trick? Not this time it would seem. My preferred way to applique is to put freezer paper on the back and baste the edges down with thread. I don't like glue (too.well gluey! I have tried the starch and iron method but I like my fabric soft on the edge when sewing it down (I am very tactile). One thing I will start doing though is to make a vinyl overlay. It makes life so much easier when laying out the pieces. I LOVED that idea. It's a nut...

Prairie Primrose Stitches: Not much going on...

http://prairieprimrose.blogspot.com/2015/06/not-much-going-on.html

Sunday, June 21, 2015. Not much going on. It has been a while and although I feel as if I haven't done much, I really have. I have machine quilted four quilts. I just finished putting on bindings and all that is needed now is to hand sew down the bindings and give them a wash to get out the water soluble thread. I have LOTS of ideas! And I started prepping the pieces for my next applique block too. I am happy to go back to my usual freezer paper method! Ann at Prairie Primrose. Ann at Prairie Primrose.

Prairie Primrose Stitches: February 2015

http://prairieprimrose.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 14, 2015. A few things done. I had some production the last week or so. I finished hand quilting another block! I LOVE this quilt! The binding is done on my churn dash. I tackled the Kitchener stitch again and got my toes all closed up on two pairs of socks! Now that was just PURE PROCRASTINATING that I didn't do these sooner! Then I finished piecing the giant apple core quilt. It will make a beautiful wedding gift. Now back to hand quilting! Ann at Prairie Primrose. How does it start?

Prairie Primrose Stitches: March 2015

http://prairieprimrose.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 20, 2015. It's time to say goodbye to an old friend! I think I made about 8 or 10 of these little bags.it must have been 12 or 15 years ago. They travelled all over the country making their way to some friends and family! For myself, I kept a blue bag and a brown bag. The blue bag was gone years ago and now it's time to say goodbye to the brown one. It's had a good life though! I realize this gives my the perfect reason to make a new bag! I finished my snowman! http://prairieprimrose.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 24, 2014. I finished machine quilting another quilt! Straight grid lines.I LOVE them.I have always loved straight grid lines (preferring the hand quilted ones)! Here is a closer look! I still have to throw it in the wash to get rid of those basting stitches. This quilt is going to be a gift for a family member.got to keep that a secret for now! And I counted up my quilt tops this week.I have four to machine quilt and one to hand quilt. She is up to 6 blocks. Ann at Prairie Primrose.

Prairie Primitives Folk Art

Sunday, December 17, 2017. Small Craft Fairs vs. Juried Art Fairs. This was written in response to a post in a local Facebook group lamenting the poor turnout at a school-sponsored craft fair.). I've done craft fairs for more than 40 years, so have a little bit of experience with these things. High booth fees should not be seen as a guarantee of anything other than a high booth fee. You want to see high booth fees? These shows have that too! Monday, August 8, 2016. This seller's current title is:. Move t...

Prairie Princess

Sunday, February 8th, 2004. Since I've updated my journal. Never even got on the computer yesterday, instead I was a good girl and got all my homework done :). We *finally* bought a new bedroom suit over the weekend! Our bedroom currently has a mattress on a boxspring, a nightstand, a tall thingy that the tv sits in, a quilt rack and a chest - nothing matching of course and a variety of "his" stuff and "my" stuff all mixed up. Hmm nothing more really going on, it's been cold and we've not gone out much.
