GRC panels can be provided with a standard grey concrete finish or a specially modified coloured concrete mix can be manufactured on the face of the GRC panels to enable the full range of normal precast finishes such as acid wash, sandblast or polished finish. Alternatively stone can be bonded to the face of GRC panels providing an economical and quick to install method of stone cladding to a building facade.

The classic everlasting finish using diamond grinding to produce a high lustre finish. Create a look that exposes the aggregate using high pressure grit blasting. Imitate fine sandstone finishes using a diluted acid wash treatment. Create a face densely packed with aggregate using a retarding agent to remove the sand-cement matrix. Match natural stone buildings using an integral casting technique to anchor the selected stone. Precast Concrete Handbook 2009.

This process exposes the aggregate by blasting the cured panel with an appropriate blasting medium. Varying degrees of sandblasting are available to suit the requirements of the project:. The cement skin of the panel is removed to expose the sand and some of the aggregate in the concrete mix. Exposes approximately equal amount of fine and coarse aggregate. This process results in a smooth, sand-textured surface. The process involves curing the panel, wetting with water, applying a dilute solution of acid and then thoroughly washing the panel to remove the acid whilst revealing the attractive textured finish. The dominant visible feature that affects the overall look of an acid etched panel is the sand used in the concrete mix, the cement matrix colour has secondary influence and the coarse aggregate selection has a small influence in the final appearance.
