Turkey Through My Camera Lens: January 2015
http://turkeythroughmycameralens.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Turkey Through My Camera Lens. Friday, 2 January 2015. Christmas Eve 'Kuşadası Style'. Our little Father Christmas, which was the first Christmas decoration we purchased 28 years ago, took pride of place on the top. Then to top it on Christmas Eve we went into Kuşadası to the Christmas Party laid on by the Belediye (local council) at the Setur Marina Shopping Centre on the seafront. The sea was very calm so the lights reflecting on it from the shopping centre looked beautiful. As well as the band playing...

Turkey Through My Camera Lens. Sunday, 26 October 2014. Our Trip To Cappadocia - Final Preparations. Yay we have our Müzekart . Tomorrow we are off to Cappadocia, my research and talking to a couple of expat friends who had purchased their cards a few weeks back, convinced me that we needed to get cards before we go as they can be used to gain free entry into some of the open air museums and underground cities free of charge. And of course, once we had our cards, we had to test them out by having a quick...

Turkey Through My Camera Lens: March 2014
http://turkeythroughmycameralens.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Turkey Through My Camera Lens. Saturday, 1 March 2014. Fishing Off Paradise Beach. Our local beach cafe offers 'locally caught' fish on its menu, and when they say 'locally caught', they mean caught right off their stretch of beach. As well as using fishing rods they use a smaller version of the drag net type of fishing, where they cast out a net in a half circle off the beach using a small fishing boat. The fish had obviously decided to go to a different spot, as today's catch was one fish and an octopus.

Turkey Through My Camera Lens. Friday, 17 May 2013. National Sovereignty and Children's Day. One of many parts of the celebrations in Kuşadası this year was a procession through the town led by the Municipality's Brass Band, followed by children dressed in their finest clothes and national costumes, along with their proud parents. The young girls were eagerly waiting to have their faces painted. Even at the end of a busy day, this little boy still had some energy left to burn off. View my complete profile.

Turkey Through My Camera Lens. Saturday, 29 December 2012. These photos were taken on one of our lovely December days when there were a few heavy clouds around but mostly the sun was shining creating some lovely winter colours to the sky and sea. Turkey Through My Camera Lens: August 2013

Turkey Through My Camera Lens. Monday, 26 August 2013. The Summer Blues Of Kuşadası Seafront. I took this set of photos on a hot August day, the different shades of blue, white and grey compliment each other to give a cooling feel to the scenes. Now that's the way to pass the day! There is very little shade to be had, but this guy has managed to find some. There is always somebody taking a photo. It must be cool in the shade, as he is taking a nap. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Wednesday, 28 January 2015. Looking from the Aegean Coast of Turkey across to the Greek Island of Samos, the sunset tonight was stunning, made all the more dramatic by some heavy cloud formations. The Old Town Tanneries in Kuşadası has recently been restored by the Doubletree, Hilton Hotel and has given these historical buildings a new lease of life. They are now being used to house various tourist attractions. Here you can see one of the drums where the skins were placed in the drum with lime and water and then rotated to wash the skins.
