For the disabled / elderly / hospitals /sport changing rooms etc. Approximately in the centre of the shower area the McAlpine shower gully is fitted into 18mm ply, also on this job reinforcing the area where the new basin and pedestal will be fitted, also rounding off any sharp corners which could affect the the slope of the new 9mm ply floor. Fitting in the Mcalpine shower gully. Finishing off the floor. Everything's fitting into place.

This was my own project, after fitting walk-in showers / wet rooms on a weekly basis for the last five years for a living I could take my time with this one and take a few photos. With hindsight I would have taken a few more detailed photo's but at the time of doing this job I no intention of building a wetroom website.

Finish the whole area in plywood that's going to be covered in Altro flooring and filing any slight gaps so you got yourself a perfectly smooth floor ready for the Altro to be laid. For the disabled / elderly / hospitals /sport changing rooms etc. On this particular job I was able to lay the ceramic tiles 1st, on some jobs you will have to lay the drainage and floor 1st, with everything cleared out of the room I was able to slide a sheet of 9mm ply into place without touching the tiles, which is not always possible. For the disabled / elderly / hospitals /sport changing rooms etc. Removed floorboards approximately 35 inches wide by the length of the bathroom which was 5 feet, leaving at least 1 and a half inches around the edges, this is needed for screwing the new plywood floor to. Obviously this is the ideal time for laying pipes and cables and setting up the drainage. Temporary design and Maintained by Northants-Design.

The top lip of the mcalpine drain is a couple of mm thick and this needs to be embedded into the 9mm plywood floor there are a couple of ways to achieve this. Wet room shower floor.
