Project Food 365

Thursday, November 21, 2013. Sweet Potato Corn Chowder. Mid-November - cold, blustery, rainy, windy - perfect soup weather! I whipped up a batch of sweet potato corn chowder for dinner last night and posted a picture on Facebook. A friend requested the recipe, so rather than type it out on Facebook, I decided to revive the blog for easier sharing. Sweet Potato Corn Chowder. 3-4 slices thick-cut applewood smoked bacon, chopped. 5-6 shallots (or 1/2 medium yellow onion). 1 medium carrot, peeled and diced.

Project Food 365: December 2011

http://projectfood365.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 30, 2011. Day #362 - Marinated Steak. The newest addition to my culinary library is The Commonsense Kitchen. Cookbook. It was given to me by a coworker. This book is huge! In CK, I found a recipe for marinated steaks which sounded good. Plus, I had the ingredients on hand, which was a bonus. Since I was off work today, I had time to prepare the marinade and really let the steak get tender. When it was time to prepare dinner, I removed the steak from the marinade and patted it dry with a ...

Project Food 365: May 2012

http://projectfood365.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 4, 2012. My failed blogging in 2012. It's me. I had every intention of blogging this year. I have been mostly keeping up with my original plan of trying new recipes every week; a large stack of printed and tested recipes are accumulating on my desk, and the photos are cluttering my camera's memory card. Somehow, I found myself lazy and forgetful about coming to the blog and actually writing about the meals! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. About Project Food 365. The Spic...

Project Food 365: November 2011

http://projectfood365.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Day #332 - Spaghetti and Meatballs. I admit, nothing was homemade. Unless you count the broccoli, which I steamed. The whole grain spaghetti came from a box, the Italian-style meatballs came from the refrigerated section of Target, and the sauce was jarred Roasted Garlic pasta sauce. By Giada DeLaurentis (also found at Target). It was delicious! I topped my spaghetti and meatballs with a little shredded Mozzarella cheese, since I was out of Parmesan. Monday, November 28, 2011.

Monday, October 31, 2011. Day #302 - Baked Chicken Breast and Succotash. For my main protein, I seasoned a couple chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then baked in a glass dish in a 400-degree oven while I prepared my succotash. Sunday, October 30, 2011. Project Foodie

Monday, August 2, 2010. Spoiler Alert: Mocha Frappe is McDonald's Shake! Reinventing things isn't something new. Lets face it, it's been going on for decades. Apple, Paul Rudd, Tina Turner, Toasters, and Instant Coffee are all brilliant examples of how relevance has been reinvented. First, please understand, honoring re-purposing things is something far too few Americans do; and often when they do, it’s a clumsy exercise in what seems to be embarrassed under achievement. But only time will tell! I'd like...
