Vespa GS 160 Mk1: So Long
http://pdxvespags.blogspot.com/2010/08/so-long.html
Vespa GS 160 Mk1. The transformation of a 1962 Vespa GS. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. I sold the GS and am working on another scooter. I really enjoyed this scooter. The wide powerband of the GS makes for a great ride. Thanks for the great blog and the great job you did on the restoration of this GS. I am greatly enjoying it and will take good care of it! Dont forget to update the TV175 blog, and start the SX200 blog when you get to work on that one! September 15, 2010 at 8:17 PM. I meant TV200, not SX200!

Lambretta TV175 Series 3: July 2008
http://pdxtv175.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Lambretta TV175 Series 3. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. My 1962 Lambretta TV175 as I bought it. When I got the TV175, it was in great shape. The motor runs strong and smooth. It starts first kick. Cosmetically, it has a few blems, but so do most vintage scooters. Eventually, it'll receive a thorough refresh, but for now, we're enjoying it as is. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Lambretta TV175 Series 3: Borrowed parts
http://pdxtv175.blogspot.com/2010/08/borrowed-parts.html
Lambretta TV175 Series 3. Wednesday, August 25, 2010. With the TV200 getting SLOWLY restored, I took some of the body parts and put them on the TV175 for now to spice things up. Silver Special side panels and a Silver GP fender along with some chrome bits shine up the 175. We took it on the POLALO ride (Portland Oregon Loose Association of Lambretta Owners) for a 50mile blast through the hills east of Portland. We started out in the middle of Saturday Market Downtown. And ended up in Estacada.

Flight from funk | Digital Demolition
https://digitaldemolition.wordpress.com/2011/06/28/funk
Everything coming to a grinding halt. Finally saying goodbye →. June 28, 2011. I’ve been in a pretty deep funk for a month or so. No one reason, just a deep state of. 8221; Maybe 100 yards. The turnoff, her clutch cable breaks, but luckily, it’s right. I have to commit to that long stretch of “no way outta this walled-in construction mess, you’re going to die.”. I flip around, wait for cross traffic to part and start that. 8221; “Let’s see! Oh yes, did I mention that I got to do this in the rain? Now I&#...

Vespa GS 160 Mk1: Floor Strips
http://pdxvespags.blogspot.com/2009/05/floor-strips.html
Vespa GS 160 Mk1. The transformation of a 1962 Vespa GS. Monday, May 4, 2009. I was able to have a friend weld up the broken floor strips so I can use the originals. The alloy welds but doesn’t want to fill so they’re a little finicky to weld up. I cleaned them all up by filing the welds, bead blasting, then brushing them. I manually bent them back into shape. The next step is to actually install the strips and see how it works out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My GS before restoration.

Vespa GS 160 Mk1: December 2008
http://pdxvespags.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Vespa GS 160 Mk1. The transformation of a 1962 Vespa GS. Sunday, December 21, 2008. The weather and my schedule finally cooperated and I started pulling the GS apart. Lots of notes and pictures during disassembly should keep things organized. I've been picking up parts that I know I need all summer. One good score was a NOS horn cover to replace the rusty one that bulges around the spotwelds. Lots of cleaning to do on this motor before it comes apart. Next step, take apart the front end. The GS gets up t...

Vespa GS 160 Mk1: February 2009
http://pdxvespags.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Vespa GS 160 Mk1. The transformation of a 1962 Vespa GS. Friday, February 27, 2009. I just scored a 1965 Lambretta TV200 in pieces. It's quite a distraction, but I'm holding off on the TV until I finish the GS. That's the plan anyway. I made a tool to spin open the top of the damper cartridge. Two 1/8" dowel pins in a steel block. Later I found out that a pin spanner also works well. Bearings, clutch, etc. The cruciform was a little worn, but not too bad. I replaced it anyway while I'm in there. I'm stil...

Lambretta TV175 Series 3: January 2009
http://pdxtv175.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Lambretta TV175 Series 3. Thursday, January 8, 2009. Here's a shot of the 66 SX200 I had for years and sold in a moment of weakness. This scooter was great and I got it for $400 in 1990. I never should have sold it, but the list of "should never haves" is too long to list. My favorite Lambretta was my first, a '65 TV200. It was tempermental, but it was the best.
