Pubs: Then & Now

Pubs: Then and Now. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. 170 Prince of Wales, Llangollen, Denbighshire : 2007 to 2014. Llangollen is a place we don't visit very often and on our first trip there in 1996 we didn't venture much beyond the town centre. On our next visit we decided to explore a bit more and one of the pubs we found was the Prince of Wales. This was on the evening of Friday 31st August 2007. As I recall it was a fairly standard back street boozer. This was on the evening of Saturday 19th April 2014.

Pubs: Then & Now: May 2015

http://pubsthenandnow.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Pubs: Then and Now. Tuesday, 19 May 2015. 166 Tilted Wig, Warwick : 1998 to 2014. As previously reported, back in 1998 our boat broke down and we spent two days exploring the hostelries of Warwick at our leisure. It is quite surprising how memory plays tricks on the mind, I hadn't remembered our 1998 visit to the Tilted Wig until I opened my picture album! Which is the reason I started taking these pictures so many years ago! This was on the evening of Sunday 30th August 1998. Links to this post. It is a...

Pubs: Then & Now: October 2014

http://pubsthenandnow.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Pubs: Then and Now. Monday, 13 October 2014. Is Long Itchington THE Most Expensive Place for Blackcurrrant and Soda? I don't normally use this blog for a rant, but today I'm going to make an exception. I've just returned from a two week canal cruise around the Midlands (essentially the Warwickshire Ring) and an incident at our first lunchtime stop prompted me to compile the information and write this post. Our first stop was at the Two Boats. A lovely canalside pub at Long Itchington. Of Blackcurrant and...

Pubs: Then and Now. Wednesday, 24 June 2015. 168 Ring o' Bells, Marple, Cheshire : 2000 to 2014. This picture was taken on a lunchtime stop on Friday 1st September 2000. I don't remember too much about the interior apart from the fact that it was full of canal memorabilia and served good food. Although we repeated this journey in 2010, we didn't stop in Marple so it wasn't until lunchtime on Tuesday 24th June 2014. That we next stopped in Marple. Links to this post. Location: Ring o Bells, Marple, UK.

Sunday, 31 May 2015. 2015 - Day Out 04: Llandudno. Date: Saturday 23 May 2015. Its time for another coach trip, but instead of our usual operator, we are giving Greenline Coaches, based in Stourbridge a trial and book a trip back to Wales and to the seaside resort of Llandudno. I make my way into Wollaston, so that I can catch National Express West Midlands. Service 276 into Stourbridge, picking up Mr UKBuses. Plus a few more inbetween! Along with the Mystery Coach Tour vehicle). So we have chance to get...

Sunday, July 07, 2013. 8 July 2013 at 19:45. 8 July 2013 at 19:54. Although there have been a number of closures, this area still does seem to support some proper country pubs of the kind that has largely vanished from Cheshire. 17 July 2013 at 19:16. Looks rather enticing and worth a visit. In many parts of...

How Football Relates To The Business World. Or the beautiful game , started out humbly enough as a past time. But now, the sport has turned into a thriving business concern of global proportions like many other professional sports. At the height of this business operation is FIFA, the world football governing body. Unfortunately, the copious amounts of money this body deals in has been brought to public attention through mega-sized corruption deals involving top FIFA officials. Every football season is c...
