A peek inside my Dil and Dimag. Tuesday, July 25, 2006. My trip to St. Malo and Paris. This blog is long overdue. Had been planning to write it since the time I came back to US and that was.uummmm.just lets say quite some time back. But most of it is still fresh in my mind, both France and India. A peek inside my Dil and Dimag. Wednesday, March 23, 2005. TCP packet entry (Linux Kernel). This post should have preceeded the earlier post about the SYN and SYN-ACK's. But this is what happens when I dont keep my papers in order =). Anyways here it is. Once again I am not mentioning a few details which I dont think are neccessary. So here goes the entry of a TCP packet into the TCP layer of the Linux Network Stack. Some of the important functions in tcp rcv established() are listed below. In the init f...

A peek inside my Dil and Dimag. Tuesday, October 03, 2006. TODO for the next month. Just had a meeting with my advisor after a very long time. Below is a list of things we discussed about and the work that needs to be done. I am listing it here as I often tend to forget stuff immediately after the meeting. Explicit marking makes use of at least 2 bits. One bit is used to indicate that the packet is marked and the remaining are used to provide additional information. This information can be, but i...A HB ...

A peek inside my Dil and Dimag. Wednesday, May 18, 2005. RTO Logic - First Draft. In order for the RTO logic to work, we need a way to store the time when each packet was forwarded. Here the time would be stored in jiffies. We would also need to know the time at which we recieved the last ACK from the forward flow. Hence we would need to add two variables. 1 time send: indicates when the packet was forwarded. Will be stored in struct skbuff list. Now we will start sending data packets. When we reciev...

A peek inside my Dil and Dimag. Tuesday, April 26, 2005. A few days back, while chatting with a friend I said something which got me thinking. Did I hear it somewhere or did it just come out of my conscious? I dont know, but here it is. In life, always follow your dreams. Just dont put all your hopes on them. Because if they dont come true, you will atleast be saved from falling flat on your face.". Have I become very pessemistic in life? Or is it just the truth? But what are dreams? Most linux distribut...
