Tuesday, April 24, 2012. We watched a female Common Green Darner. The Green Darners are one of the dragonflies our study group is tracking. They are hard to ID. I think this one is an Aurora Damsel. My beginner's guide to Dragonflies states," At least 35 species of bluets are known from North America, presenting the novice with a bewildering identification challenge." I am a novice. I think this is a female Familiar Bluet. Were flying and laying eggs. The pond was busy today with Bull frogs and turtles.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. I checked the parsley this afternoon. I counted five Black Swallowtail Butterfly eggs. We potted up three parsley plants from the garden and placed. Them on the window sill in the living room. We could have caterpillars any day. The Pleiades are in Taurus the Bull. They are my favorite. Another unseasonably warm day. It feels like April. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Another Black Swallowtail emerged yesterday. We now have four living in the living room. They are finding food.

Tuesday, July 31, 2012. 101102.when will it end? Once again the temperatures have broken the 100 degree mark. Still no rain. Calm winds. No relief today. I watched the butterflies from inside. It is too hot for me to be outside. The corn crop is gone. My corn husk dollies remind me to send blessings to the farmers. It is the last day of the month. It is market day. Our son sent a gift. He knows I water everyday. Now I can have dechlorinated water for the entire garden. It is one of my best practices.

Tuesday, October 25, 2011. I walk in awe. I walk in the light. I walk in color. They tell me their secrets. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. A Black Swallowtail emerged from her chrysalis. I had my breakfast with her. A Fresh Breeze blew all day out of the Northwest. I sat for a little while outside this afternoon. Once again many Northern Cardinals. Are coming to the feeders. We should have a fine flock this winter. I saw a Junco on the deck. They are the harbinger of frost. We picked the last of the tomatoes.

Friday, October 28, 2011. Magic in the air. Each day the butterflies are in the gardens is a blessed day. We have had a few light frosts. The marigolds have been outstanding this year. They are my marigolds.seed to seed for many, many years. I once again took my yoga to the deck. Once again I took my meditation outdoors. I wanted to be with the butterflies and birds. The colors mix with the scent of wood fires. I am reminded of long ago bonfires. I can hear laughter in the Northern wind. And the seed pods.
