It all started back in 1996 when I spotted a patchwork quilt in a magazine and immediately bought a small cheep sewing machine. That fist king size quilt has pride of place in my bedroom and is still used to build dens! Faded and worn, but a den building staple! The birthday quilt designed by mini. Quilting Along the Grain: March 2015

http://quiltingalongthegrain.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, 15 March 2015. Once Upon a Star! During my break from blogging things changed dramatically here, I now have an actual job as a Community Development Worker! It is a job a love and builds on the teaching I have done in communities around the county. It has meant a massive shift in how my family works, I no longer have the freedom to manage my time that I had as a freelance teacher. It has been a major adjustment for us all, but one we have all come through still smiling! Part of a Christmas Star.

Quilting Along the Grain: Bunny Cushion!

http://quiltingalongthegrain.blogspot.com/2015/12/bunny-cushion.html

Sunday, 6 December 2015. The birthday party day has arrived and the present was finished with an hour to spare! The pattern by Elizabeth Hartman. Was really easy to follow but the cutting out was quite intense because there are pretty small pieces of fabric! I made the bottom of the bunnies face a little bit bigger so he has a nice chubby face. The picture of the finished cushion is not great - no light here today! I hope that the birtdhay boy loves it as much as I loved making it! Hello, I am Anna!

Thursday, 3 December 2015. This weekend midi monster has a birthday party to attend. It is the 10th birthday of his best friend. You may not know this, but midi monster is a very talent young sewer. He can happily set up a sewing machine and can sew patchwork blocks, quilt and make simple things. His best friend is also a young sewer, he has helped his mum set up her machine and discover stitches she didn't even know about! They both attended sewing classes with me earlier this year and loved it. Diary o...

Quilting Along Life's Way

Quilting Along Life's Way. Monday, July 6, 2015. To obey or not to obey—that’s the question we face continually in our Christian walk. Some days it’s easy to comply, but other days it feels all but impossible. Especially when God asks us to do something that doesn’t make sense to us. Like opening our tombs by choosing to forgive. That was my dilemma several years ago. “I have to get alone with God,” I told my husband, John. “I’m in a very bad place.”. I’d learned that just because a painful recoll...

Quilting Along The Gorge

Quilting Along The Gorge. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. I think I got carried away cutting out Tumblers for Bonnie Hunter's newest Leader and Enders Challenge, I did use my Accuquilt Baby Go to cut out these gems and I think I slimmed down the scrap fabric situation. In fact I think that I may have enough of just Christmas prints to make a separate Tumbler quilt. Links to this post. Monday, July 6, 2015. Links to this post. Thursday, July 2, 2015. Quilting a Memory

Heirloom Quilts to Last for Generations. Friday, April 5, 2013. Links to this post. Thursday, April 4, 2013. I see a road trip in my future! Found this story and thought I would share:. During the 20th century, people lost interest in “taking the cure” by dipping into the cool waters, but Powder Springs has another claim to fame now. It has some 16 quilt squares painted on the sides of various historic buildings in town – a number of which can be seen on a walking tour. Links to this post. Saturday, June...

Quilting A Memory

Memorial Quilt: Fallen Soldier. February 24, 2015. I have been working on a memorial quilt for the daughter of a Colonel who lost his life while serving in Iraq. The quilt pattern is a Lone Star – which I think can be a very majestic pattern. There are feather swags between the points of the stars. Each star point is made from the gold ribbed ribbon that went down the side of the dress pants. Posted in Memorial Quilt. Memory Quilt: Toddler Dresses. December 17, 2014. Just to recap these t oddler dresses.
