The Doll Sweet Journal.: Five Things for Friday

The Doll Sweet Journal. Attempts at good living and self-awareness. Friday, June 19, 2015. Five Things for Friday. On Sunday we saw a snake in our backyard. It was the first time we'd seen a snake in the yard since moving here almost five years ago. It was an experience I hadn't been looking forward to. The kids were thrilled, though- especially Sam. He was so excited! It was a long black garter snake with yellow stripes. Sorry Sam, but I hope to never see it again! We have a brand-new grocery store that...

The Doll Sweet Journal.: Sunset and Crabs at Gray's Pier
http://www.thedollsweetjournal.com/2015/06/sunset-and-crabs-at-grays-pier.html
The Doll Sweet Journal. Attempts at good living and self-awareness. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Sunset and Crabs at Gray's Pier. The pier (or boardwalk) extends out over beautiful marshland with beautiful views. The water looks like it carves out the sea grass (or vice versa? And it's really cool-looking. When we got there it was still bright and sunny out. I made it to the end of the pier- it extends pretty far out over the water. Sunset was approaching, but the sun was still fairly high in the sky. It was ...

The Doll Sweet Journal.: Smooth Seas
http://www.thedollsweetjournal.com/2015/06/smooth-seas.html
The Doll Sweet Journal. Attempts at good living and self-awareness. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Yup, it's another beach post. Surprise, surprise! I wasn't sure if it would or not. That's one of our favorite things at the Cape! In smooth water you can make your own concentric circles. My shadow on the left is huge- I look like an oddly shaped giant! Rocco and John were basically playing a game of "fetch," in which Rocco would throw the ball as far as he could into the water and John would go retrieve it.

The Doll Sweet Journal. Attempts at good living and self-awareness. Friday, June 26, 2015. My 2015 Summer To Do List. I got all of the blog posts done that I wanted to do for documenting last summer before we left for this summer's vacation. It wasn't easy, but I'm glad I got them done! I feel much more caught up now. I have definitely earned my much-needed break from blogging for the rest of the summer! Read lots of books. Read, read, read! I'm channeling my inner Dr. Suess here. Ha! Part of me really w...

The Doll Sweet Journal.: We Finally Went to Mayflower Beach!
http://www.thedollsweetjournal.com/2015/06/we-finally-went-to-mayflower-beach.html
The Doll Sweet Journal. Attempts at good living and self-awareness. Monday, June 22, 2015. We Finally Went to Mayflower Beach! Last summer we finally went to Mayflower Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches on Cape Cod. It's a hard beach to get into because the parking lot fills up so fast due to its popularity. But we made it in and nabbed one of the last parking spots left! When we got to the beach in the morning, the tide was on the low side, but still pretty normal. Do you see John? I took t...

The Doll Sweet Journal.: Our Beach
http://www.thedollsweetjournal.com/2015/06/our-beach.html
The Doll Sweet Journal. Attempts at good living and self-awareness. Thursday, June 18, 2015. These are a few more pictures of "our beach." I'm just going to call it that from now on because I like saying it that way. Obviously it's not ours, but it's the one by our house that we go to the most often, mostly in the evenings as a nice way to finish up the day. It's our beach. Sam brought a boogie board and had so much fun running with it along the beach. I don't think I'm ever going to tire of these views.

Arizona Spring Break- Larson visit. We took Heidi out for her first taste of Thai food, and it was delightful. We left the kids at home with Rachel in charge of babysitting. ok, not really, but she did do a great job of making sure Finn was happy and well taken care of while we were out. Heidi and I also got to do some running together, came across this cow in the middle of Mesa. Lots of good climbing for this crew. This was not one of Wyatt's happier moments, even though he wasn't even walking. Henry wa...

The other day Wyatt asked Finn if he had lots of money to buy anything he wanted, what would he buy? Finn thought about it and said, "Ummmm. Poptarts.". Finn also loves to play with toys that he pretends are crashing or fighting, and recently he has started shouting out "Whoa Dam! As he makes his toys crash. Gavin has tried to correct him several times by pointing out that he actually means "WoBam! But he doesn't seem to be convinced. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our F and F. JME and Ann Marie.

Tax season ended. and we hit the road. 5pm on Tax Day. The boys were on spring break and so we headed to AZ for a visit. Of course traveling with these three boys was exhausting and a great time at the same time. Our first stop, after an overnight in Kanab, was the Grand Canyon. Caleb is the only one in our family who had been to the Grand Canyon before, and he was still sporting his super long hair. Little man at the Grand Canyon. Some day we hope to take all of the boys back to really experience the Gr...

Happy Halloween- Avengers style. What a great Halloween! This was the first year that the boys all agreed that we should do a family theme and coordinate costumes. After Wyatt came home with a Captain America costume a month before Halloween, they all decided that an Avenger family was in order. And he would even growl it and flex his little padded muscles. Wyatt was a very handsome and brave Captain America. He loved his shield and would even try to throw it to see if it would come back to him. The last...
