I haven’t really spoken to her much since we were in Brussels together so it was slightly ackward for me considering that I never really knew her outside of work. What are the Penners up to? Doran’s First Chess Tournament. February 5, 2011. Doran gets ready to start his first game. Today was Doran’s first chess tournament. It was “Regionals,” and he played as a member of his school team. The competition was tough! There were about 85 kids attending, from 8 schools. I had to rush to class every Tuesday and Thursday evening, and had challenging homework that I worked on evenings and weekends. What are the Penners up to? He had his birthday party this year at the local ice skating rink, which is in the center of the mall near us. It was really a lot of fun for everyone. Doran had a week of ice-skating camp last summer, and has been a couple of times to the rink with my mother since then, so he had his footing on the ice. I had my 4th birthday in hospital, and I had my 5th birthday in hospital too! But I have just had my 6th birthday, and I was NOT in hospital YIPPEEE! And hopefully on my 7th birthday, I might not have leukaemia any more. Which is weird, because I can't remember not having leukaemia.

Life as I know it
Saturday, July 26, 2014. A combination of having fun, summer school, and working has evaporated my summer. Every summer I convince myself that i'll have more time to do said things and every summer I end up feeling like I have less time than I do during the school year. But here comes August and along with it Fall semester (will it ever end? However, before I get carried away with what's in the future I want to reminisce about the fun things i've been doing.
