Just another WordPress.com site. Never follow coding guidelines inside a regular expression :-). January 11, 2012. I have just realized that if we try to follow usual coding guidelines while writing a regular expression we will be in trouble. I wanted to write a regular expression (in lex) which matches a few strings. I did it as. H He Li Be). I was not getting the expected output and at last I realized that the spaces were the culprit. I spent around 2 hours on it 🙂. The right method is (H He Li Be).
