Rail rambles are walks from railway stations in Wales and the border counties of England. The walks themselves are free to join (but of course you have to pay your rail fare! Recently, Rail Ramblers joined with Coventry RA for a four day walking weekend. We stayed in ‘Arriva’ territory, with a programme of eight different walks centred on Cardiff. Alan had never climbed Cadair Idris so when he had an important birthday. Railramblers organised a special trip over this mountain.
