Small steps under the big sky*. Thursday, June 6, 2013. Today, as you drove past this spot, you stopped. You left all the windows down, turned the radio up,. And whooped to your girls to climb out and dance. And we should consider every day lost. On which we have not danced at least once.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). bare foot notes: August 2013
http://bare-foot-notes.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Small steps under the big sky*. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Just before august ends. Today is another beautiful summer day. Amelia and Aven change directly from nightgowns. Into swimming suits and we pack the car effortlessly. It is the end of summer and I don't even have to think. About where towels or water bottles are. Our days. Have become streamlined; garden, river, campground, lake;. By the end of August I feel so graceful. In our happy summer orbit. In a week this all will shift into something else.

Small steps under the big sky*. Monday, September 23, 2013. You leave town later than you'd planned,. Nearly 11 by the time you fill the gas tank. And point the car north. But the day. Is radiant, and entirely yours. Your daughters sing along. From the backseat; The Lumineers,. Modest Mouse, the Avett Bros. A bit taller than usual. Blue of sky. The highway. Unfurls beneath your tires. And you've packed a lunch,. Bathing suits, a camera. An adventure is in order. Picnic at the Lewis and Clark Caverns.

Perfectly Patti in Every Way: Scottish Oat Scones
http://perfectlypattiineveryway.blogspot.com/2011/03/scottish-oat-scones.html
Perfectly Patti in Every Way. Living Simply Loving Generously Caring Deeply. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. I LOVE scones- - all shapes and sizes and flavors! I am particularly fond, though, of the plain oat scone. I used to make them often when my two older boys were little- - they were easy, quick, and inexpensive afternoon treats,. They were always a bit too dry. I ran across this particular recipe in a wonderful gem called. Yes, folks, as in the movie about a sheep-herding pig! Or so the cookbook says).

Perfectly Patti in Every Way. Living Simply Loving Generously Caring Deeply. Saturday, August 27, 2011. It's been more than 2 months since my last post- - so much for being a diligent blogger! During this time I did go on a week-long holiday with my youngest son, Alex. We'd been planning this get-away for quite some time and it finally arrived, ready or not, at the end of July. View from OMSI, Portland, Oregon. After getting lost several times, we made it to our first stop, which was OMSI. The next day A...

Perfectly Patti in Every Way. Living Simply Loving Generously Caring Deeply. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. With bendable, rubbery legs, and all the amazing accessories, and myriad of friends, that went along with her. I think I've always been a bit sad at not ever having my very own Barbie doll. While my mother-in-law took care of the boys, we would make a day of it, leaving early and coming home late, exhausted, but satisfied, from our endeavor! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Getting To Know Me. Fig Jam and ...

bare foot notes: If you lived here, there are things you would know
http://bare-foot-notes.blogspot.com/2014/02/there-are-things-you-would-know-if-you.html
Small steps under the big sky*. Thursday, February 6, 2014. If you lived here, there are things you would know. You'd know that when the February air. Gets cold enough, much. Much colder than zero, a wide halo. Of crystals forms around the sun. Glistening like a muted rainbow. The sky, too. Pales on the coldest days, thins. Out into a breakable boneblue. The buses don't run, fuel thickens. In the lines, but the secretary calls each. Family to assure us that the school day. A warm sound that makes you stop.

bare foot notes: March 2015
http://bare-foot-notes.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Small steps under the big sky*. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Beginning again, a rough draft. It seems it shouldn't feel so hard, this sitting down. For a minute to type a few words, or. Knowing where to begin, choosing between. Describing the small puffed clouds of her sleeves,. The campfire ash and marshmallow. Contentment of her face,. Or the way her older sister's bare feet. Curled around the warm belly of her pony,. Sideways spring sunlight holding her. Knowing where to start. Is where I falter. And maybe...
