Wednesday, December 28, 2016. Christmas with the Sanders. After lunch we opened gifts. We all received so many wonderful things. I "went rogue" on a couple of gifts this year, but they were all well received. One of the "rogue" gifts was a bicycle for Brian. He didn't ask for this, but he likes to ride the bike around the neighborhood with the kids so now he will be riding in style and comfort. We spent the whole day at the house eating, chatting, and playing basketball. It was a great day.

Sunday, August 28, 2016. The final race that I completed in August was the Heels and Wheels Duathlon. I have done the triathlon for the past three years, but I decided to go back to the Du this year because I'm a terrible swimmer and frankly I'm scared of catching a brain-eating amoeba in the lake. Sunday, December 11, 2016. Owen's WINGS field trip this year was a train trip on the SAM short-line railroad from Cordele to Plains, Ga. Plains is a small town whose claim-to-fame is that it is the home of President Jimmy Carter. Owen was chaperoned by his Papa, and these two had a great time.
