I have no regrets. So here's a blow by blow on what happened:. The Day Before the Race. Me and Debra the day before the race. Got up as ...

On the Edge: I Love Open Water Swimming and Boise is Looming!

http://ramblingbydesign.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-love-open-water-swimming-and-boise-is.html

Monday, April 30, 2012. I Love Open Water Swimming and Boise is Looming! Still feeling happy about Rage so decided to post a picture! With Boise 70.3. Less than 40 days out, the workouts have gotten super race specific. Saturday Brick: 53 miles biked, 3.2 miles run. Sunday Brick: 13.4 miles biked, 10.75 miles run. Which made today's easy open water swim just what the doctor ordered! When she saw the data. I'm hoping Boise will be no warmer than yesterday on June 9 - just putting it out there]. LOVE my ne...

On the Edge: Breaking Through . . . RAGE Race Report!

http://ramblingbydesign.blogspot.com/2009/04/breaking-through-rage-race-report.html

Sunday, April 19, 2009. Breaking Through . . . RAGE Race Report! Season Opener, RAGE Olympic Distance Triathlon. Run: 6.2 miles. I was gunning for a huge PR and got one! 46 minutes off of last year's time! Last years' time: 4:46:xx. This years' time: 4:00:02. Now, I really wanted to break four hours on this course. But, seriously, who am I to quibble over 3 seconds. Can we say " close enough. I think those three seconds are a sign. Of more work to be done and more awesome breakthroughs to come! Something...

On the Edge: Silverman Triathlon

http://ramblingbydesign.blogspot.com/2006/11/silverman-triathlon.html

Monday, November 13, 2006. I volunteered for this event yesterday:. Http:/ www.silvermannv.com/. Let me just say it was one of the most inspiring days I have had in a long long long long time. This event had EVERYTHING, from a high profile relay race that attracted the best of the best of Professional and Olympic athletes to try and win $100,000 prize, to "ordinary" people doing what I can only describe as an extraordinary thing just by finishing this very difficult course. Was in the transition area!

On the Edge: RAGE Race Report (PRs!)

http://ramblingbydesign.blogspot.com/2012/04/rage-race-report-prs.html

Sunday, April 22, 2012. RAGE Race Report (PRs! RAGE Bike Course Picture from http:/ bbsctri.com/. I have to say! Which is normal, because, it's RAGE! I got a PR in the swim. Which I was totally NOT expecting and squeaked by with a PR on the bike. The run . . . ah the run . . . unfortunately did not go exactly as planned. And my transitions were slow. They changed the course this year. Tony was there doing the sprint relay with his son Todd. Todd remarked that he heard that my training was going reall...

under my own steam: rant about stupid-isms

http://undermyownsteam.blogspot.com/2009/10/rant-about-stupid-isms.html

Under my own steam. Wednesday, October 21, 2009. With an angry tone and possibly an obscenity attached. Umwell #1, a* hole: it's not legal to ride on the sidewalks where I live and it is legal (as in required) to ride on the right side of the road - "ride as far to the right as practicable" which still means riding on the right side of the what? Anyway.there is so much anger out there about bicyclists riding on the roads. Why? What the hell did we do to you? We have 16 days 'til the race. It seems ve...

Monday, July 13, 2009. Growing Stronger or the Start of a Coup? All of the hills that were there two months ago were STILL THERE. Amazing isn't it. They still kicked my butt as well! I told Tanya she won the polka dot jersey for the day (in the Tour ' de. Thankfully, we were safe and didn't have any negative bovine experiences except for having to slow for them. After those first 50 miles we refilled our water bottles and then headed out towards Belton. That's what hills will do! Century. Is it insan...

Pursuit: The Act of Striving: Getting close!

http://drivenpursuit.blogspot.com/2009/10/getting-close.html

Sunday, October 18, 2009. Hey look, it's only been 16 days this time since I blogged anything! When I hit solid taper, I intend to blog a little bit more. Three things have kept me busy: my job (command), Ironman training (of course), and grad school applications. The later takes more than I thought it would! Oh well, should be done soon and then it'll be the "sit and wait" to find out where I go. There will be more of that to come though, so enough talk on it! That 10-miler did, however, whoop my legs!

Thursday, August 13, 2015. What-Cha: Indonesia Dark Roast Tie Guan Yin Oolong Tea, A Tea Review. Oh hey, I think my sleep schedule flipped back to being diurnal-ish. Yay? It is time to look at a powerful tea from What-Cha, their Indonesia Dark Roast Tie Guan Yin Oolong Tea. This tea had my attention from the name (a charcoal roasted Tie Guan Yin, that is one of my favorite things) and the description calling it powerful, what can I say, I have a type! That first steep is sweet! Wednesday, August 12, 2015.

More than you ever wanted to know...

Friday, April 4, 2014. The end of the season is not the final episode. Monday, September 30, 2013. Perspective: Earlier today I saw a little boy, who was very sick at school. I called his mother to pick him up and she said it would be two hours before she could get him, even though she worked 15 minutes away. Frustrated… thinking what could take you TWO HOURS to pick up your SICK BABY? Sunday, August 11, 2013. Two posts in one day? I know they don't hear my thoughts, or my gossipy conversations, but I do...

On: April 23, 2012. Last week I was shopping for an anniversary gift for the spousal unit, and landed at Thinkgeek. One of my favoritest places. And while shopping for him, I came across Portal cookie cutters. Seeing as I am all about instant gratification, I immediately squeed and clicked the Buy Now button, the eagerly awaited their arrival. When they arrived, I opened the box and squeed some more. Then I realized what this meant – I had to bake sugar cookies. Problem. 1 cup granulated sugar. Finally, ...

Thursday, December 23, 2010. The Three Sets of Laws. I think there are three basic groups of laws that man cannot escape from and that once you cut threw the crap we throw up in the way reveal themselves if you think about it. They are Nature, Moral and Ethical. Lets skip the first for now and look at Moral. What does it mean? Is it now just an ingrained saying? Have we over done it and thrown up to much pomp and fluff that we don't remember what it is we wanted in the first place? I'm not trying to bash...
