Grampy Bustard: A week in Zante (part one)
http://grampybustard.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-week-in-zante-part-one.html
The musings of a southern naturalist up north. Welcome to my world. . Saturday, 25 July 2015. A week in Zante (part one). A very pleasant green island, not too many tourists and those that were there were mainly from other European countries like Poland, Sweden, France and Germany with not too many Brits. The shops were full and had no problems at all; perhaps heeding the tourist advice to take plenty of cash and not to embarrass anyone by offering credit cards did the trick. Minsmere Crimson Underwing C...

http://adventuresinentemology.blogspot.com/2010/08/not-very-bright.html
My Adventures in Entomology. An attempt to study and document the moths native to my local area. (Grid Ref:SK388324). Sunday, 15 August 2010. The moths came swarming over. I get a bad feeling that I've been attempting to trap with a 'dull' lamp for the last few weeks and hopefully things will pick up again now it's been replaced. Anyway the last 7 days have managed 3 new species including one NFG Macro(Mouse Moth) and one Small China Mark(NFG)(ID thanks to Bill). 16 August 2010 at 03:15.

http://grampybustard.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
The musings of a southern naturalist up north. Welcome to my world. . Wednesday, 3 June 2015. And another new one. During a brief walk on Saturday at Pilmoor I noticed several larval tubes consisting of bundles of grass stems on various low vegetation. I found five in total and took a couple of poor photos which were just about good enough for me to find which species they were on the internet. It turned out that they were a micromoth Psyche casta. Which feeds on birch. Larval case of Coleophora. A male ...

Journal of a Rambling Jack Russell Terrier
Journal of a Rambling Jack Russell Terrier. Thursday, October 10, 2013. Hiking High Marsh Trail over Bare Knolls. Axel stops for lunch and a break on Bare Knolls. Dad took my hiking on the north side of Mt. Tamalpais. I love it here; there are hardly any people and lots of beautiful scenery. We always stop at Bare Knolls, sit down to rest and enjoy the scenery, and eat lunch (my favorite part). Links to this post. Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Video of another of my favorite things to do. Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Fibromyalgia and Food "Fix". Years back, when I worked a desk job, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I had been running regularly, working out, taking aerobic classes, and was very active (but not overly so). Slowly I got to the point where getting out of bed in the morning was painful. I hurt. I was miserable. Sleep was sporadic and I was slugging through the day. I ultimately went to see a nutritionist. Not your typical hospital nutritionist (here's your food pyramid, e...

The most important resource for parents. My number one project. I have undertaken the mother of all projects: motherhood. It will offer countless opportunities for success, failur...

Thursday, August 13, 2015. August means salmon season. Although the ocean conditions have been odd this year, some salmon are still showing up at the mouths of rivers. In the ocean, they seem to be doing OK, but in many of the rivers in Oregon, salmon are dying as a result of high temperature stress. This doesn't bode well for the long term future of salmon in the state. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Yesterday, I cut the first artichoke of the season, and I pulled my elephant garlic. A week with family.
