Mrs. Randall's Learning Library

Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Are you all familiar with QR codes? I have seen them around but my only schema about them was that you take a picture of them and it (the magic box OR iPhone) would give you information about the product. I followed a great link on Pinterest about what QR codes are and how to use them in the classroom if you have some iPads. What is a QR code? A QR code is a matrix barcode (see inset photo) that can be read by some sort of a scanner or smartphone. How is this useful to teachers?

Mrs. Randall's Learning Library: June 2011

http://randalllearninglibrary.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 30, 2011. Classroom Photos.its coming along! I love how the tubs I found for my math work stations (Target Dollar Spot) totally match my book tubs! My only gripe is that they don't have lids because I liked the idea of posting "I Can" statements to the inside lid. I will be easily able to fit math materials and laminated math talk cards in these tubs though. I love this system and wasn't willing to give it up this year due to space. I made it happen! Well, it certainly is coming along!

Mrs. Randall's Learning Library: April 2011

http://randalllearninglibrary.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Classroom Management Linky Party! It is that time of year again.the big hectic rush towards the end of the school year! Kids are excited, teachers are super excited.and we need to revisit our classroom management systems that have kind of faded away as the year progressed. I have found myself relying on our old point system. If they earned 3 bees, I always made them tell me the fact family 3 7 = 10, etc. when I put the bee up. So, lets have a linky party! Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

Simply 2nd Resources: Pretty Walls

http://simply2ndresources.blogspot.com/2014/08/pretty-walls.html

Just one teacher freely sharing ideas and resources. Monday, August 11, 2014. My husband came to help me put up the rest of my paper on the walls. Do you use the rolls of fadeless paper from places like Mardel or other teacher stores? They are very pretty, but very difficult to hang by yourself. After the ordeal of this wall. I knew I needed some help for the rest. :). Husband to the rescue! So this is the back wall now:. This is the wall across from the first aqua wall:. What do you think? Please email ...

Just one teacher freely sharing ideas and resources. Monday, August 11, 2014. Ready for Anchor Charts. Instead of buying new ribbon to outline my anchor charts, I decided to use the yards and yards of white border I had in my classroom. #winning. I am only teaching writing, math, and social studies this year. My teammate will be in charge of reading and science! I am pretty excited about it. A great place to hang our work. I will be pointing to this board pretty often. This was my inspiration:. I am goin...

What matters is what matters, knowing what matters and how to know it, matters the most. This is the first sentence in a book I am writing, The Invisible Cathedral about the process we call evolution, its past, our present, and the future as projected from the vantage of our emerging understanding of thermodynamics, information theory, and the hierarchy of influence. Where Darwin showed us the HOW and WHAT of evolution in terms of biology, I work to understand the WHY of evolution independent of domain.
