Where media gets mixed up. May 19, 2015. 1st off I will occasionally post up things I have colored for the sheer joy of it – not to journal or mixed media it away but just the sheer joy of how something came out (I hope) 😀. I have always been fascinated with how light plays on items. Not so much in the light source manner but in the way it creates transparency, opaqueness, color shadows (think petal lying over another petal), layers etc. TA DA I came up with this using Stampendous’ Sunflower Ladybug.

Where media gets mixed up. My Starry Starry Night. May 13, 2015. I have always been fascinated with Van Gogh’s art especially Starry Night. So this piece is inspired from that work. It started with the background where I applied Tattered Angel. Along with Art Anthology sprays. I then cover it all by using a very large soft mop brush with clear gesso, my favorite being Pebeo transparent gesso. You can click on any of the images to see a larger view. As I loved the slight haunted vibe it gave the night.

Where media gets mixed up. July 29, 2015. This True loves her ocean and anything beachy 😀. So I had these cool Fish Stand Ups from Retro Café Art. I need some dimension and this company UmWow. Sells confetti sized shapes. So the first thing I did was sand then gesso all the standup pieces. Not the confetti they are too small. I then laid out all the tiny pieces on my three fish and took a pic so I know where to lay them down later on. And then touched up corners with TomBow’s Mono Multi Liquid Glue.

Where media gets mixed up. June 3, 2015. This is a blast from the past I did back in 2013 when modeling paste had yet to become cool 😀 I stamped this Dragon Rubber Stamp”. In to Liquitex light modeling paste. I then used a spatula to spread additional paste around the image and let it set up. I then stenciled atop the hard layer with Crafter’s Workshop Cell Theory. I have a Silhouette Portrait cutter. The paper stencils don’t last very long so I seemed to remember that my husband gotten some spray rubberizing agent. It’s called Flex Seal. One of those as seen on tv products. You can not immerse the stencils in water but you can wipe them off and they are much sturdier. Here is my result.
