The main point was that the volume of non-fiction literature in Norwegian is very scant, and the number of good quality works low. This is an issue in academia. So, back to the title of this post...

Random thoughts on Norway. Random thoughts on anything related to Norway and Norwegians - politics, culture, society, current affairs, and generally anything that occupies my mind at the moment. Thursday, November 18, 2010. Gallons and litres - some thoughts on cars and culture. Also (and according to the «big in America-thought), the more miles per gallon, the better. Random thoughts on Norway: Social levelling

http://randomthoughtsonnorway.blogspot.com/2008/10/social-levelling.html

Random thoughts on Norway. Random thoughts on anything related to Norway and Norwegians - politics, culture, society, current affairs, and generally anything that occupies my mind at the moment. Wednesday, October 1, 2008. If you follow the debate in Norwegian media about schools, you will frequently come across the term "sosial utjevning". The term, which can be roughly translated as "social levelling", digs straight into the strong egalitarian attitudes in Norway. October 2, 2008 at 2:09 PM. I wonder w...

Tuesday, March 25, 2008. What happened to all those great adventure games? They don't make games like those I remember anymore. The magic of them is gone. The graphics might be better, and the sound effects might be . well, in those first games the sound effects were just beeps and squeeks from the computer. But they had something about them that I loved, and that a lot of kids loved. They were genuine. This is my top 10 list of the greatest adventure games ever, or at least the ones that I played:.

Most social charou gatherings include half a bicycle pack - then the game is on. The catchy card game resembles another popular card game in Norway, and thus not too hard to get a general hang of. http://quenut.blogspot.com/2008/03/ironies-of-everyday-life-pt-1.html

Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Ironies of Everyday Life, pt. 1. I don't like football. I don't see what all the fuss is about. And I don't know jack squat about it. Needless to say, I don't get invited to a lot of Sunday games. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What happened to all those great adventure games? IPod, R.I.P.

Friday, March 21, 2008. When my mum did the keepie uppie. Since I did my last post on this blog on football, I'd like to continue on that track. It is a short story that I find absolutely great, written by a guy called Ole Alexander Ulvestad. It is originally written in Norwegian, and called " When my mum did the keepie uppie. It goes like this:. Every day, I did new records. New borders were crossed. Ten, twenty, fifty. Hey, fifty! Or should I prove that I was a man (or rather, a little brat? I put myse...
