Over 4,000m of towering volcanic rock dominating the Atlas Range. Toubkal or Tubkal - 4,167 metres (13,671 ft), is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains and in North Africa. It is located 63 km south of the city of Marrakech, in the Toubkal National Park. The first ‘official’ expedition to the Atlas was in 1871 when a small scientific expedition organised by the British Botanist Sir Joseph Hooker was given permission to visit the Toubkal region but did not summit. Accommodation is on Alpine Bunks.
