Hello Win Column: Now Posting at Lone Star Ball
http://hellowincolumn.blogspot.com/2010/08/now-posting-at-lone-star-ball.html
Friday, August 27, 2010. Now Posting at Lone Star Ball. Anyone who still checks this blog with some regularity has noticed that I fell into the trap that destroys many amateur bloggers such as myself: time committment. It was simply too much of a strain on my time to maintain this blog at the rate we were going. Fanposts aren't necessarily front-paged, you can find the links in a column on the right hand side). My username there is "John Paul" (I'm obviously not going for anonymity here). Now Posting at ...

Hello Win Column: March 2009
http://hellowincolumn.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. I’m still waiting for the Rangers to get a solid catcher, someone who can play gold glove caliber defense and put up MVP type numbers like Pudge did. Will this ever happen? Tuesday: The Curious Case of Michael Young, Part II. In a follow up to last week's post about the state of Michael Young's career and his chances for a rebound ( The Curious Case of Michael Young, Part I. My guess: not many. If you can find one, post it in the comments! Sunday, March 29, 2009. Vizquel is an ar...

Hello Win Column: July 2009
http://hellowincolumn.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Wednesday: The Trade Deadline. The answer is most likely no, but the players hypothesizing about having Halladay on the team a few weeks ago certainly raises a few eyebrows. Posted by Thomas Lowery. Links to this post. Tuesday, July 07, 2009. Wednesday: ASG: Young, Hamilton in, Kinsler snubbed. Note: As of today, Ian Kinsler and Pablo Sandoval are leading the final vote ballet. So it's looking like Kinsler may end up in the game after all. Posted by Thomas Lowery. Who wanted to ...

Hello Win Column: Year in Review: Awards
http://hellowincolumn.blogspot.com/2009/10/year-in-review-awards.html
Saturday, October 10, 2009. Year in Review: Awards. Let's start first with the Rangers. Runner-up. Michael Young. Easy choice. Young was having a fantastic year before his injury and his numbers still looked terrific. No other Ranger came close to the status of Byrd and Young. Pitcher of the Year. Now, for the league awards. I'm running out of time here, so this will be brief. I'm going with Joe Mauer. What else does he need to prove? AL Manager of the Year. NL Manager of the Year. Posted by Thomas Lowery.

Hello Win Column (old one): January 2009
http://texasrangerbaseball.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2009. Around the Horn: Saturday. In yesterday's "Around the Horn" I discussed whether Varitek's resigning with the Red Sox makes a trade for one of our catchers more or less likely, leaving the question open ended. Today in the news, there are three at least two notes (from Jim Reeves. Voting strongly in favor of less likely. Given that Boston never seemed terribly excited about trading away Clay Buchholz anyways, I would have to agree. And that is all for today . . . I wonder how t...

Hello Win Column (old one): Tuesday: Team Splits
http://texasrangerbaseball.blogspot.com/2009/06/tuesday-team-splits.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Splits", for those who don't know, is the term given to how players perform in different scenarios. For example: lefty/righty, day/night, home/road, etc. Let's take a look at the interesting splits that the Rangers have formed as a team:. Author's note: all statistics are current as of 5/30 (when this post was written). The Ranger hitters at RBiA are slamming a .285/.357/.521, but away from home they only manage a meager .249/.294/.447. 0 outs: .288/.342/.555. Welcome to Hello Win ...

Texas Rangers Trades: Kellin Deglan Scouting Report
http://texasrangerstrades.blogspot.com/2014/03/kellin-deglan-scouting-report.html
Thursday, March 13, 2014. Kellin Deglan Scouting Report. I was able to watch Kellin Deglan take some batting practice during the morning workouts today, and here is what I saw:. I saw very average bat speed, which will really hurt his ability to hit better, and especially harder-throwing, pitching. He has a good frame to add strength, which is something he is really going to need to do if he is going to be able to overcome his lack of bat speed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Texas Rangers Trades: Myrtle Beach Pelicans Opening Day Roster (from Scott Lucas)
http://texasrangerstrades.blogspot.com/2014/04/myrtle-beach-pelicans-opening-day.html
Tuesday, April 01, 2014. Myrtle Beach Pelicans Opening Day Roster (from Scott Lucas). Here is the Opening Day roster for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, with added insights from Scott Lucas (@scottrlucas), who writes the minor league reports for the Newberg Report. Alfaro stays in Myrtle Beach as expected. He ought to finish the season in Frisco. Williams and Cone should be the two most frequently appearing names in the outfield lineup. Williams has the best pure contact ability among last year's Hickory ...
