Random Musings and Happenings. Saturday, February 19, 2005. Frenchman on a Hybrid. It happened again today. I "raced" another unsuspecting middle-aged cyclist. We had a brief encounter when I whizzed past him on a downhill, me tucked into my aerobars, him coasting on his hybrid. I said a quick hello and he raised a hand in response. For godsakes, he'd have all the proof he needed. So, I bolted ahead, heart rate soaring immediately. Posted by The Younger's at 4:06 PM. Sunday, February 06, 2005. I'm sure t...

Random Musings and Happenings. Monday, July 31, 2006. With all of the recent wedding-related blogging, I've neglected to give an update on my sweet pooch, Holden. While Craig and I were in Alaska, Holden was spoiled rotten with the Saarela's - Aaron, Jenn, and Gracie the Dog. He had a fabulous time, as evidenced by these great photos that I swiped them from Aaron's website. Posted by The Younger's at 9:28 PM. Sunday, July 30, 2006. Posted by The Younger's at 10:07 AM. Random Musings and Happenings. Saturday, May 20, 2006. Best New Toy Ever! My Prius arrived yesterday! It was well worth the 2-1/2 month wait to get the car in blue. Within half an hour of picking it up, I was on my way to chaperone a Venturing. Camping trip to Jordan Lake. Who needs a user manual when you have four 16- and 17-year olds to locate every cool feature your car comes with? Posted by The Younger's at 11:49 AM. Wednesday, May 17, 2006. Random Musings and Happenings. Sunday, April 30, 2006. Lessons learned this weekend:. 1) Giving a toast at a wedding is nerve-wracking. 2) Guests will pay you $20 each if you can weave "post-operative transexual" into your toast to their sister/friend. 3) Going to a beer festival the day after a wedding is asking for trouble. 4) Introducing your brother, college friends, and co-workers will lead to more trouble. 5) Algae beer makes people puke green (thank goodness I was the DD). Random Musings and Happenings. Tuesday, September 26, 2006. Those of you familiar with my backyard may notice something absent from this photo. Yes, the privet. Craig finally got tired of the nasty invasive and cut it down and turned it into mulch. While I worried that Holden would miss his shade, he's rather enjoyed all the changes in his backyard and is happy to serve as landscaping supervisor. Posted by The Younger's at 2:29 PM. It seemed fitting in so many ways. believing I'm actually getting married. Believing Craig and I will have an amazing Alaskan adventure. Believing we could actually pack all of our wedding and backpacking stuff into the airline-allotted two bags a piece. :). Posted by The Younger's at 9:17 AM. Friday, June 23, 2006.
