The number of people sifting through information on the Internet, seaching for products and services is increasing. One way to increase your chances of catching one of those potential customers is to have a relevant domain name - something that's going to persist in the user's mind from transaction to transaction. Generic domain names really open up such marketing opportunities - you can place your URL on the back of a vehicle, or as a tag line in an ad, and not need to say anything else. And of domains ...

Rave's Blog: The Lynx Effect live - and how they missed a trick
http://ravefromrapide.blogspot.com/2011/03/lynx-effect-live-and-how-they-missed.html
Monday, 28 March 2011. The Lynx Effect live - and how they missed a trick. The sun's come out, the sound of (possibly Angry) birds fills the air, and windows are starting to creak open - yes, Spring is here. And with it advertising's silly season. One campaign I've enjoyed is for deodorant brand Lynx. It's amusing, always fresh, and doesn't take itself too seriously. (Well, you can't take yourself too seriously if you're under £3 at Boot's.) Here's one of the ads. But here's our view at Rapide. This woul...

Rant's Blog: September 2010
http://rantfromrapide.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 September 2010. Press 1 to send your customer into a blind panic, 2 to. Music festivals are everywhere these days, aren't they? I mean, where there used to be a nice patchwork of green and yellow fields, these days it's pink polka dot tents all the way to the horizon. It's as if the British countryside has developed acne. Pretty much everywhere you look, if it's surrounded by a boundary hedge, there's a music festival taking place in it. And what happens if you don't listen to your customer.

Friday, 31 December 2010. Sailing through the freeze: our fondest moments of 2010. Happy Holidays, everybody! I'm looking back on 2010 on the last day of the year. and I'm proud to say my friends at Rapide. Have had their best year ever. What's interesting is that if you take all the exciting things happening in mobile. they've also happened to Rapide! Here's my little run-down of some of them. 1 Growing like crazy. And the same's happened at Rapide! 2 Radical summer highs. Sentiment analysis engine is a...

Rave's Blog: Press nothing to speak to a human! A tale of First Direct
http://ravefromrapide.blogspot.com/2010/09/press-nothing-to-speak-to-human-tale-of.html
Wednesday, 29 September 2010. Press nothing to speak to a human! A tale of First Direct. When it comes to Call Centres, one company stands out year after year:. The online bank First Direct. I've been a customer of these people for a LOT of years now - it was my first bank, in fact - and I've got so many positive stories about this HSBC-owned gem that I'm amazed I haven't raved about them before. Well, it's time to fix that! You see, the Rapide. That's where so many Call Centre processes simply "break".

Friday, 31 December 2010. A Grinchlike look at 2011. Well, even a Grinch. Like me has to admit it: 2010's been a fantastic year. For those people at Rapide. We now have around a third of the FTSE as customers; we send about 3m text messages on their behalf each month; and a growing number of those are two-way conversations rather than blasts outwards. The MD even took the whole company to Vegas. To celebrate. I dunno, kids today. 1 Mobile spreads outwards. The barrier here is simple: traffic jams on the ...
